Great affordable remote start. Like factory.
Easy to install, cheap, but effective remote start. It works exactly as advertised. press lock 3 times and the Jeep starts. I had to splice 1 wire in the harness that came with this kit which was easy to do inside my house with some wire strippers and electrical tape. Then during install the kit was completely plug and play. The youtube videos show exactly how to do the install. At first, I did have some weird issues like I had to "turn the key off twice" when I stopped otherwise the jeep would keep running. And then I had a problem where when I inserted my key the engine would shut off and I'd have to start it like normal. But that only lasted a few days and now it works perfectly. I didn't change anything. So either there was still a learning procedure going on, or some weird electrical gremlins. But after a few days everything works as expected.

Beware who you purchase it from.
Beware who you purchase from as all sellers are not the same. Usually these remote starts are super simple to install with little to no experience necessary. They typically come preflashed to match your vehicle and all wires are connected before your item is shipped so it is ready to install out of the box.I purchased this one from E&B Electronics and it arrived lightening fast. I had everything plugged up in only a few minutes but nothing would program. After calling the mfg tech support line I discovered that I needed to splice together a couple of wires in the included harnesses which is simple enough. The remote programmed in but I still had no remote start. After calling back I discovered that the unit was NOT FLASHED to turn on any of the options and I would need to purchase a flasher to set up the module before it would work.I checked with a couple of other sellers and they ALL flashed the units before shipping and splice any wires in the harness before shipping. I returned the one purchased from E&B Electronics and ordered one from a different seller that set up everything before shipping so it will be a simple, plug and play install with no hassles or headaches.

Works great 2007 ram
2007 dodge ram 2500. Because my truck only had 4 wires coming from the trucks plug(see pics). I only had to wire up the 2 yellow wires on the evo unit together and the green/red and purple together also on the evo unit (see pics). Almost plug and play. If you have 5 wires coming from the truck plug its a little more involved. PS. you need to buy the stupid programmer thing from the company or the unit won't work.

Great product
Great product for the price...instructions are definitely lacking, but once you figure it out it's really quite easy to install. I did have to go back and purchase the Fortin flash loader to program it to my car, that wasn't made clear in the details but once I got that only took a couple hours to get programmed and installed. Love it

Instructions are terrible, but product is great
When you first open the box and sort everything out, all the wires can be quite intimidating. Your first thoughts are, "this was supposed to be plug and play". Rest assured, it is, mostly. YouTube is your friend here, use it more than the instructions, which are not included, and must be downloaded from the Fortin website. I was installing this on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Pretty straight forward install once you realize you don't really use any of the extra wires or plugs that come with this thing. The extra wires and plugs are for add-on modules or I assume, for use on vehicles that don't have a T-harness. My install went as follows: 1. remove cover around steering column (3 T20 torx screws) 2. remove dash trim below steering column (clips only) 3. remove factory plug from ignition module (black box right by ignition cylinder -where you put the key-) 4. plug provided t-harness in, factory plug into harness, harness into ignition module. 5. *WIRING INVOLVED IN THIS STEP* This was not mentioned in any of the videos I watched or plainly outlined in the instructions. 5a. You need to connect the yellow wire from the t-harness (bundled with purple wire) to the yellow wire on pin A1 on the big 20-pin white plug with all the wires. 5b. leave all the other wires bundled together as they are not used for basic install. 5c. These 2 yellow wires are the ignition signal and need to be connected. 5d. Strip the wires and connect by soldering or crimping with a butt connector. 6. press and hold the programming button on the Fortin Evo module, and plug in the black 4 pin connector (there are several, only 1 will fit) 7. let off the programming button when only the blue led is on (this was one of the confusing parts for me, thought they would blink in sequence and then stop at some point with only the blue light on. Nope, they will keep blinking forever, just let off when only the blue light is on. If you miss it, unplug black plug and try again.) 8. with only the blue led on, insert the remaining connectors (white 20-pin, white 5-pin, and red 6 pin) 9. put key in the ignition, and turn to the ON position, the blue led will begin to blink rapidly (if you did not connect yellow wires, nothing will happen) 10. turn key to off position. blue led will continue to blink rapidly. (not clearly defined in instructions, blue led will not stop blinking from previous step to this one) 11. press the lock button on the factory remote (you can remove from ignition to do this) 12. press and release the programming button on the Fortin Evo module once. the blue led will turn off. 13. everything should be programmed now, press lock button on remote 3 times and make sure vehicle starts. 14. if everything works correctly, tidy up wires with zip ties and secure module behind the dash below steering column, using zip ties. 15. put steering column cover together making sure everything snaps back in place and tighten with the 3 T20 screws that were removed 16. snap dash trim back into place

Keep looking, not worth the time or effort
Not worth the time or the effort. The directions are detailed, but unclear. After 5 hours of attempting to make this work, I finally gave up. I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but it seems this product is strictly for those who work with automotive electronics on a daily basis. Following the directions to a "t" prove futile, and unfortunately a return isn't offered for this product. Certainly not the fault of the seller (I called Fortin, and as a previous previewer described, received hostile treatment from a Customer Service Rep) but definitely "Buyer Beware." Ultimately I purchased a similar product for less money, pre-programmed. THAT one took me less than 15 minutes to install.

malo
en la descripción del articulo no te avisa que se tiene "flashear" para que pueda cumplir con su funcion, tienes que comprar aparte otro aparato y descargar un software en la computadora para poder echarlo a jalar

Terrible instructions unless you already know how to do it.
My package came with a code card that gave me free access to downloading the instructions for installing. So, I was presented with a page allowing me to look at some terrible photos of some connectors and wires without any relation to vehicles. Also a link to 9 different pdf instruction sets. The instructions were all for my vehicle but were all different. It took a long time just to compare connectors with the diagrams to eliminate some. But there were still two different instruction sets to print and guess which one applied. These are not actual instructions. Just diagrams and you have to guess that you need to do to make your wiring look the same as theirs. Then after all the installing it did not work. Nothing. Not even a click or dash lights coming on or anything. Thankfully the key still started the vehicle. I watched about 8 Youtube videos and compared all the diagrams I now had on hand. It should work but it does not. The vehicle is heading north to the Yukon in two days. If I don't have it running by then the parts will come out and get sent back to Amazon.I have posted in the online forums for the product and I hope to receive help quickly but tomorrow is Sunday and I hold no hope. The weekend is not a good time to need something installed and working.Don't believe anything about instructions. If you have read this far then you are doing your research first like I did and found nothing. There is nothing in the box either folks. Even the videos show most people don't use any of the features except the start. I would be happy to have that. Period. I have linked my key to the device several times. That whole procedure works. It is something in the wiring that is not right.Check the date on my unit. It says Oct 2018. This is Jan 1, 2022 I am typing this. No updates or new units since 2018?! The two instructions that seem to match are Jan 2019 and Jan 2020.After a full wasted day I am very frustrated and mad.

Proper setup
Once I had the proper instructions to install this on my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 it was fairly easy to install for the most part plug-in play I had three other wires to connect to the truck wiring white wire parking lights yellow wire ignition start and green red wire so if you follow the instructions properly it won't take you very long to install it I would recommend downloading and printing off the instructions it will make your life so much easier and you also need to buy the Fortin flash link you can do this on your own computer the setup what you want on the remote start it gives you various different options
