I wanted to have a center seat in my boat. It's not a big boat, so I had to plan carefully where placement would be and not have a pedestal too small, nor on a thin post. I weigh about 200 pounds, so it's important that a pedestal like this is strong enough for me, and for anyone else I might have in my boat. This is well made, good solid welding throughout. The pedestal base thickness is 3/8 of an inch. I measured that and deck thickness to buy the right hardware, in my case 14 by 1 inch oval head stainless mounting screws. Centered the position, and mounted it right to the deck very easily. The upper seat mount slides out so you can mount the seat to it, and tightens to the pedestal base. The Knobs and hardware are all well made, height adjusts as you wish, and you can add a swivel base to your seat and it works fine. I'm very pleased with the result and am glad I did not buy a small post style mounting base, so don't waste your money on one. This is worth paying for.

Would purchase again, these seem to be good quality for now. Will update review after owning them for a while. Easy to install and look great

I was disappointed that there are no screws or even the size screws needed, it does look well made.

Ive used this for about a season now and it worked really great for my pontoon restoration. It's sturdy, I'm 300#+ and it feels solid bolted down to 3/4" marine grade plywood. It is pretty basic. It can't be adjusted closer or further from the consol without an adapter but it does adjust up, down, and swivels just fine. I did put a little bit of bearing grease where it swivels because I can see that being an issue in the future if not lubricated. This pedestal doesn't require a center hole to be cut out of the floor, just mounts flush to the floor.

Rock sold pedestal. I put two in my Jon Boat. Easy to install.
