QUALITY & AFFORDABILITY
As a first time wetsuit purchaser, I wasn't confident about what I needed. The reviews I'd read couldn't convey what wetsuit would "suit" me. Fortunately, Xterra caught my attention with a simple sizing chart, a positive track record, and a satisfaction guaranteed return policy.Xterra's delivery was prompt. Initially, the wetsuit required simple instruction to put on. I was concerned it would feel like I was being constricted by tires, but it seemed to fit okay. Another concern with wetsuits is the tendency for the material to tear. With modest patience this can be easily avoided. The true test was in the water.I was less than enthusiastic about a 65 degree open water swim, in October, in Colorado. To my immediate relief, the Xterra Volt was nearly impervious to the cold water. Movement in the Xterra Volt was surprisingly nimble considering how strong the material was. I also noticed the Xterra Volt provided an additional buoyancy which actually aided my swimming.Getting out of the Xterra Volt was easy, and after rinsing the wetsuit off with a hose, and letting it drip dry on a hanger, it was factory fresh.I've been able to use the Xterra Volt for 3 additional swims, and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase, and Xterra's quality.

Perfect entry level wetsuit!
Just came in today. It fits great. I am 6' 1" 165 lb and I got the Medium Long. Could not be happier with the fit. I will be trying it out soon. It looks and feels relatively durable, although this is my first one so I don't really have a good point of reference.Edit: I've worn it for a few pool swims now just to get used to it and get a feel for swimming in a wetsuit. So far so good. just by putting the suit on, I cut 20-30 seconds of my 100 yard times. I know it is an entry level suit, but as I am coming from not having on at all, it works perfectEdit 2: I've now been able to use it in open water in preparation for my half ironman in a couple weeks. I was pleasantly surprised how it stabilized me in the water. Mainly it kept me nice and warm in the cold lake water. I am doing a test run with it this weekend with a sprint Tri in the north GA mountains. Going to get to to a whole practice run with the swim and getting it off for T1.

Wetsuit runs small
I followed the sizing guide and the wetsuit runs small. Small in the chest, ankle and arm openings. If you do buy an Xterra suit, try on immediately. They have a 30 day from ORDER return policy. I received mine 6 days after order so effectively a 20 day policy.

Big Bang for the dollars
Living in SoCal i don't have a big need for a tri suit but come fall and winter training it helps out on the longer swim sesssions while I'm training for a 1/2 ironman.Buoyancy: positive, while added buoyancy is not a normal reason i would purchase a suit it is small extra bonus.Warmth: it is still on the new end but it is even warmer than i expected. I have had other xterra suits and this one feels warmer even though it's the same thickness.Speed: the outer layer material is nice in that i feel like I'm gliding smoother and faster in the water. I would have to test that against not wearing the suit but that won't happen till next spring.Fit: i opted to go with the one size up as recommended since I'm about 5'11/195lbs but have wide shoulders. Fits great and have solid umimpeded swim motion.Overall very happy and would recommend this suit as an entry level suit that feels like much more

If you need a budget wetsuit then buy this one.
I have had my wetsuit for a week now. I have used it once in a pool and once in open water. Good so far. I will race in it in two weeks if my race is wetsuit legal. This is my first wetsuit so my frame of reference is limited but I am pleased so far. The fit is excellent. I am on the border. Between sizes and have been losing weight. Past reviews and Q&A led me to order the larger size (XL) and it is a good fit for me. I like the degree of mobility and buoyancy that the suit provides and find that donning and doffing the suit is getting easier with practice. I obviously cannot comment on durability but Xterra has a great reputation for making budget friendly wetsuits of good quality and having excellent customer service. I have been pleased with the service so far.

Good entry wetsuit.
A fairy decent entry wetsuit.I use it for open water swimming.I also own the next higher level suit called the "Vector" line. This suit is quite comfortable, seems very durable and the fit is pretty good.Like all wetsuits I have tried the suggested sizing is inaccurate. If you follow the sizing guidelines the suit will be too small.I ordered the MLO size although my body specs from the sizing chart indicated a M.(It was way too small.)The suit is quite buoyant, well insulated and fairly easy to put on.It does leak water somewhat. The next level "Vector" line is an improvement on this "Volt" model. For casual open water swimming this Xterra Volt is pretty good and affordable .One thing I like: Xterra has a good return policy and you can swim in the suit for 30 days for a "trial period".Other manufactures won't take a wetsuit back once it has hit the water...

Totally satisfied with my first wetsuit!
This is my first experience using a wetsuit. I purchased as required equipment for a whitewater kayaking clinic. Is arrived on schedule and was undamaged. The fit was perfect. The weather for the first day of the clinic was cold and rainy. Air temperature was hovering in the 50's-60's water temp was 50ish. Out of the water I felt like I was sitting in the a/c shirtless. Not freezing but not warm. Once in the water I felt the suit activate instantly. I felt very comfortable. The following day Air temp warmed into the 70's I remained comfortable during all in and out of water activities. My fellow clinic mates admired the suit and especially were impressed at the price. Most were wearing dry suits. It was necessary to make several wet exits and there were a couple of gouges left in the right lower leg but all in all the suit a pears durable. Next time I will wear my rain pants as extra protection.
