LOCTITE Threadlocker 290 is a low viscosity wicking grade, green, threadlocking liquid that wicks along the threads of pre-assembled fasteners to secure them in place. Since it is applied after assembly, preventive maintenance procedures are simplified. Ideal for fasteners ranging from #2 to 1/2" (2.2mm to 12mm) in size. Localized heating and hand tools are needed for disassembly. LOCTITE 290 is a liquid medium/high-strength threadlocker designed for the locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. Because of its low viscosity and capillary action, the product wicks between engaged threads and eliminates the need for disassembly prior to application. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage due to shock and vibration. The product can also fill porosities in welds, castings, and powdered metal parts. GRADE ADHESION This high-strength thread locker is tested to the lot requirements of Specification Mil-S-46163A. MIL-SPEC ( standard or -SPEC) adhesive are products that meet or exceed the US defense standard, a measure of quality set to standardize the expectations of all products supplied to the US .
