Transformers are my sons life
My son is a "very smart" 6 year old and after reading the reviews, I was a little afraid of purchasing this transformer. I thought it would be too much of a challenge to put it together for him and that my husband and I would be needing to assist him a little to much. Well, that was not the case. The toy was very difficult for me to get out of the box...(it was secured very good by the manufacturer). It took me about 15 to 20 minutes to get it out of the box piece by piece. My son had completed put this toy together in less than 30 minutes time. He's a genius! The only downside is that it does not stand up without holding it or for a very few seconds without falling. It does have sound effects that you can't turn off so that can be a little bothersome, but overall it is a GREAT toy for my kid. He watched the video on youtube prior to us purchasing the toy to make sure that he wanted it. Great purchase!

cool looking/hard to play with
As Transformers go it is relatively easy to put togather and take apart. The individual units are fun to play with but the devastator put togather is difficult to use and will not even stand up by it's self. Over all my son has enjoyed having it but he really has not played with it.

I AM :::DEVASTATOR!
Well to be honest i had the original tinny-green-colored Devastator and it was my favorite toy when i was 13 years old...well actually i still have it, very well preserved. Oddly my 5 year old son asked Santa for this new Devastator for last X-Mas and he was just blown away by it (me also) it is huge, it is super cool and it a bad-ass looking robot. The only thing i didn't like about it it's the anoying sounds it makes with the lightest touch or movement. Once we had to go to another city and my son broght it along, after 30 minutes of playing with it my son put it on the seat next to him alone and by it self. Devastator keept making all the noises it makes "I am Devastator, HA HA HA HA, I am Decepticon..." etc during the entire 120minutes trip even though my son was not playing with it. It was being activated some how by the natural movement of the SUV on the road...and it does not have a ON-OFF buttong so nothing there to do...next time we traveled i removed the batteries :-)

Devastator!
I purchased this during a sale on Amazon.com. Thank goodness! Since it is 6 transformers combined into one, it is more expensive. It is definately the largest transformer my son has, and the heaviest. It does have some difficulty standing up, because its center of gravity is off. None the less, my son likes it very much, and if he's happy, I'm happy!

what a disappointment
My son was looking forward to possibly getting this for Christmas for weeks. He did! He was so excited. We put it together and it absolutely, positively won't stand. It is so top heavy it's very difficult to play with. The legs are flimsy at best, keep bending completely closed and the devatator is a weak lump of decepticons not even worth a battle. This toy was a huge disappointment.

Pleasently surprised!
My son wanted this so badly for Christmas, but I felt it was way overpriced at approx $100. I decided to wait until the price came down, but it never did. I didn't find it on retail clearance shelves as I thought I would. So, I gave in and ordered it for him as a surprise. It cost me even more than the original price w shipping. He was so excited! I have been impressed by it's durability. He has transformed it many many times. The snap joints that join the various pieces are holding up well. One minor complaint would be the sensitivity of the motion sensor activated sound effects... If you're holding it, it's going to be barking at you. It's so annoying in the car that we stopped letting him bring it. On a long road trip we would just have to take the batteries out. Other than that, it's really cool!

Great toy for transformer fans
I bought this for my four year old who is a die hard transformer fan. He was not concerned that the devastator individual vehicles did not transform into robot mode because the devastator itself is a robot mode. Inserting the legs requires adult help for a little guy, but it was well worth it. It has entertained him all day (a tough job for any four year old) and other than needing to pop on and off the legs, he can do it himself. A great toy!
