ESV Illuminated Scripture Journal: Psalms (Paperback)

Beautiful book. Love the space to write and reflect.

This ESV Psalms journal is fantastic! There’s so much to love about it.(Note: The list of pros below can be applied to any of this series’ Illuminated Scripture Journals unless otherwise stated.)Pros1. Dual tip brush pens don’t bleed through (unless of course you add layer upon layer upon layer…)2. Dotted pages are perfect for practicing lettering while meditating on Scripture (and for drawing straight lines for notes later).3. Versatile - With blank pages, options on how to spend more time in God’s Word are endless. Great for drawing, lettering, journaling, Bible studies, sermon notes…the list goes on.4. Wide margins on pages with text means room for even more notes!5. Books like the four Gospels are thin enough to slide into purses, travel bags, even inside Bible cases (with zipper enclosures).This book of Psalms is particularly thick, but that’s to be expected when every other page is blank. And that’s really the only con.I highly recommend as a gift or for personal study and reflection. It’s literally the perfect way to spend more time in God’s Word.

Great drawings and design. Very inspiring!

This series of biblical journal books is a fabulous idea, I only wish they were available with Anglicised text as opposed to the standard American English we see in abundance - but as it is designed for making notes, I will be amending the language whereever necessary.The battered edges of the Book of Psalms I purchased, reflected how it was (seemingly) carelessly 'flung' into its ill fitting envelope and then squashed through my letterbox - much as other reviewers have already mentioned. That said, It was not a deal breaker for me - I just took a deep breath and proceeded to carefully flatten the edges, all the time reminding myself this is to be a 'working' book.The print, easily legible, on good quality paper in a single column is a joy to read, sounds funny, but it feels like a book! The odd bits of gold rendered, illuminated text dotted throughout the book add interest. I have found using a 'bookmarker' really helpful! The absence of notes, references, correlating verses etc. is refreshing and one can focus simply on the thoughts of our LORD.I have found it difficult to put pen to book because it looks so nice, but as the idea is not to get too attached to material stuff...🙃The cost is considerable if you get all of the books, but getting them bit by bit makes it feel quite affordable.
