Not recognized and will not charge
I returned the first one because the laptop would not recognize it. Today I received the re-order and got the same result. Will be returning it later today. My old battery is recognized and charges, but is weak and that's why I ordered a replacement. I will try another seller and look for a different manufacturer in the info section of their specs. I don't think Dongguan Lewe Electronics Co., Ltd has their act together.

I mean for a computer about 18 years old...
...it works? It almost certainly won't have the same lifespan an original one will, but since Apple stopped making those A LONG time ago, this is not a bad option, especially for the price. Time will tell if it can last a decent amount of time or if it quickly disappoints me more than I do myself. While fitment isn't perfect (see photo), neither are you or I. The MacBook does run off it just fine, unlike my hopes and dreams, which instead ran away years ago.TIP for basically any Lithium battery: ALWAYS follow the instructions the manufacturer provided, but basically drain the battery empty, recharge it full, then use as normal. Once it hits 15% charge again and stop at 85%. This will prolong the life. But again, refer to the manual first.

A New Battery and a New Lease on Life Converting a Macbook to a Chromebook
Easy to install and a good fit. I turned my MacBook into a Chromebook and gave it a new lease on life. This battery gave me the ability to get another couple years of use out of my old MacBook.

Makes laptop work like new again!
Has permanent foot on bottom...old one had foot missing. Can check capacity with simple push of a button.Matches laptop. Awesome investment to laptop.

does the job, capacity doesn't seem super high
had a 2007 macbook with no battery. needed something, anything just so it wouldn't turn off when the magsafe is knocked out. this fills that purpose. the computer says that a full charge would last only 90 minutes, but it's linux so maybe it isn't so good at managing power for this thing.
