Excellent Internet Radio
I've been an Internet Radio user for many years, having had 3 of them scattered around the house. However, having no other features, they all recently became useless when the streaming provider shut down (Reciva). I was looking for an alternative and came across the Pure Elan Connect.Very pleased indeed.Easy to set up, I was able to find and stream all the stations I had before. What's even better with this radio is that it is has DAB+, FM and Bluetooth features too, which means that the device is really versatile and multi functional, not like my previous Internet radios. It's also possible to set-up and control the radio via a web browser using its IP address, very cool!Sound quality is very good for a one speaker radio. It's easily on a par with my other Internet radios. Placed on a shelf in a corner, it does provide a nice tone and this is adjustable via an equaliser function.Build quality is excellent and the control & screen layout is very tidy. The display and information it shows is brilliant.I love the fact that it is portable. Where I had my Internet radios scattered around the house, now I can simply take this around the house with me.Not disappointed at all and in fact so pleased to have updated my Internet Radio world to this device.Well done PURE!!

An excellent radio for the money
An excellent, attractively-designed, well-featured radio, especially at the current price of £39.95, that delivers a pleasantly punchy sound. The interface/menus and controls are a little quirky at first but are not difficult to learn. The initial setup wizard is very good but, having read other reviews criticising battery life, I did change a couple of the default settings. Firstly I chose to NOT keep the network (Wi-Fi/Internet) connected and, secondly, I chose DAB as the time/clock source. A couple of downsides of my choices are that the alarm/timer functions may not work (although I haven't tested this) as the radio won't know what time it is when I switch it off. Also, when using Internet radio as a source, it takes about 20 seconds to re-establish the connection to my Wi-Fi. The upside is that when I turn the radio off it's not using any power at all. As such, I find a set of Alkaline AA's last me about two weeks using the radio for around one hour per day, which is about the same as my previous DAB radio. Rechargeables are, of course, a more cost-effective option.

Lovely little reciever apart from battery life.
Bought this for a very good price of £39.95. It works very well and has good sound quality for it's size. My biggest gripe is that I bought it for internet radio to use on batteries to make it portable. But it drained a new set of rechargeable Eneloop batteries even when turned off. So turning it off only puts it in standby, It does not disconnect the power from the batteries. i put the batteries in fully charged used the radio for an hour or so, didn't use it for about five days only to find the batteries wre completely dead. I was going to send it back as I already have a Roberts internet radio for mains use but I'll keep it, it will come in handy. I might just remove one of the batteries when not in use. that will ensure they don't go flat.

Love this little radio!
It's a lovely little thing to look at and to listen to, and it's surprisingly good for sound considering how small it is, I was pleasantly surprised. There's so many DAB and internet radio stations to choose from, too many to listen to. You can save your favourites with the click of a button so you can find them quickly. I love it so much that I've bought the larger one in a dark colour for my lounge desk.

Excellent bathroom radio
Bought this to replace our Roberts radio that had stopped working. Very good sound for the price and connects to the Internet radio stations very quickly. Lasts much longer on four rechargeable batteries than the Roberts which used six. Excellent buy.

GOOD INTERNET RADIO IF USING THE MAINS BUT VERY VERY POOR BATTERY LIFE IF USING 4 x AA BATTERIES
GOODInternet RadioSound QualityDisplayBADSensitive Controls. Will only get about 10 hours of music play when using only 4 x Rechargeable AA batteries.I agree with another reviewer who wrote that the tiny USB input at the back of the radio, for when you have the radio plugged into the mains, is a very tight fit and a bit awkward to input the tiny USB of the mains lead.Alarm feature only seemed to work when the radio was plugged into the mains. It did not seem to work when using the radio with only batteries.

Can't be beaten for the money.
This was £36 in a sale. At that price you just can't beat it. OK there are some issues but bottom line is this is a perfectly useable internet radio. The sound quality is hardly any different from the overpriced Roberts 94L which I also have.Edit> A note on the comparison with the Roberts 94L. End of summer time today (27/10/24) and neither the Elan Connect or the Roberts 94L updated the time. Sorted it out, but to my mind there is an issue with the daylight saving settings. For them to work you need to highlight the off button rather than the on button on the on screen menu. Now after further examination both the Roberts and the Elan had what seemed to me like identical menus. So I guess they both use the same software so why the massive price difference?

Perfectly sized
The description does not mention that it is actually an internet radio, having purchased this Pure Connect, it is an internet radio at a great price. It’s a great size and has a non slip matt feel. Setting it up was quite easy but programming the radio stations a little harder but would not put me off recommending it.
