Janome Memory Craft 400E Embroidery Machine

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for myself. I was pleased that it came with a CD with instructions to get up and running. I was able to stitch out a design the first day. I’m still practicing, but I think I’ve created my first usable design after a very short time! I’ve watched lots of utube tutorials, and they’ve been very helpful. I’ve ordered a few necessities, such as stabilizers of different types, an additional hoop as well. One video also suggested using a pair of hemastats to help remove stabilizer, so I got those as well!! I’ve also ordered some more designs, although the machine comes with several. I just wanted more variety. I did spend quite a bit of time trying to make the machine do what I wanted it to, but I’m confident that precision comes with more practice! This machine is only for my personal use, very much pleased so far, feel the cost is reasonable.

Always a Janome fan and user andd this did not disappoint!

We love the machine but we had a problem with the flash drive working. You MUST use jef files only. If you have pes or other files they will not work. We had to get a program to convert other files to jef before loading to the Janome. First plug the flash drive (USB) into the Janome then it shows EMB. Touch it and it will go inside the USB. Then it should be formatted. Take it to the computer and add your jef files ONLY.

If you’re gonna go with a one needle stitch machine I would recommend one with WiFi ability. Not being able to adjust preset letters in machine is not worth it. And a lot of accessories for JANOME are expensive. No bundles on hoops for a decent price. And the software can be pricey

*EDIT* Switching the bobbin case solved my thread-breakage problem. Machine stitches beautifully now.I was so excited to get this machine with its large embroidery area, but I can’t get through a single color in a design without my thread breaking multiple times. I’ve tried everything, switching the needle, rethreading the top thread, rethreading the bobbin, using a new bobbin, lowering the tension, rebooting, trying different designs. I’ve tried it all and I’m still having thread breakage every minute. So disappointed.

It didn't work. I waited too long to get it returned. I tried and tried. So frustrating. I have owned both brother and bernina embroidery machines and so I do have experience embroidering. Hopefully I can get it to a dealer and get it repaired. Wouldn't have bought it had I known. I have a feeling it's a total loss. Finally figured this out! Love the machine. Just not info to use it. Finally watched tube and learned the trick. Whew!

It's perfect, I love it. The package arrived well.

I really like this machine. Little bit of a learning curve, but that isn't a problem for me.
