The media could not be loaded.  We have had Avex contigo thermos cups for over 8 years, our original ones are looking so scruffy as we bought a set of 2 one was coloured and one was plain stainless steel, over the years the coloured one soon began to get chipped paint and it is then impossible to not pick it 😬 so I decided to buy my husband a new one for Christmas and made sure that this time I purchased one that wasn’t coloured on the outside, this will stay looking new for many years, these are so good as you really can rely on them to not leak in your hand bag, just ensure the lock switch is down when in you handbag and you will arrive at work with no spills, these have never let us down and so easy to drink from, as you too it up you just push the trigger on the side of the lid and it opens the hole. Keeps the drink hot very well and very easy to keep clean

I bought the plain stainless version of this mug as my original larger one had the colour finish and it comes off in the dishwasher.I wanted a smaller version of the mug to commute with so it fitted into my pannier more easily. Unfortunately this version really doesn't keep the tea as hot as its larger predecessor for the same length of time.You can feel the heat being lost around the lid with your hand, I'm guessing because it's metal rather than the rubber and plastic like my other mug.It is however leak proof and fairly easy to clean, although I do get some build up of residue in the lid mechanism if I don't put it through the dishwasher regularly.Useful if you only need to keep your drinks hot for an hour or so on the go.

This great looking mug only disappoints because of the way I use a travel mug.So far it’s 100% leak proof and the lock is handy too. My issue is how long my drink will stay hot.Even with preheating (pouring boiling water in and allowing to sit for a few minutes) this cup is only able to keep drinks hot for around 60 minutes after that it loses heat down to a lukewarm drink at around the 2hr-2.5hr mark. By comparison my old contigo mug would be hot at well over 3hrs with no preheating at all and would keep at least lukewarm for hours after that. I use this mug for work when I have my break normally 3-4hrs after I make the drink.So I’m disappointed. That said this mug is great if you only want your drinks hot for a short while, say 1-1.5 hrs.

This travel mug is fantastic for its designed purpose: transporting coffee to and from work in your bag without any leaks, whilst keeping it warm for a number of hours. I haven't timed it, but I can still drink the coffee into the early afternoon.It's easy to keep clean. When I get home, I pour away any coffee, open up the lid and put both the lid and the body in the top rack of the dishwasher. If you prefer a coloured body, please know that those aren't dishwasher safe, despite sometimes being advertised as such! Contigo's products only major flaw in my eyes is that the paint tends to chip or peel away. I like the look of the black one but went with the plain stainless steel because of the convenience of the dishwasher. When it comes to hand washing, get a good bottle brush and you should be grand.I don't necessarily think this would be suitable for using different types of drink, though. Coffee oils are absorbed into the plastic lid, which means no matter how often and well you clean it, some of that lingering coffee smell remains in the lid. I've not tried it with tea or another type of hot drink, but have a feeling it may leave a faint coffee taste.

Only had this a week or two. Does a decent job. I previously used a Bodum travel mug.Compar3d to that, this one is 100% leak proof. Turn it upside down, not a drip - the Bodum tends to drip.It keeps my coffee at drinking temperature more than adequately.Only thing I'd say is wash REALLY well before use - it took a couple of washes to get rid of that "just manufactured" taste.
