This is real carbon fiber, and tough material, its not just for looks! I take my Jeep Rubicon Unlimited '17 on the beach, the pebbles and sand blasts at the sides of my jeep, and now just bounce off, and rust is a non-issue with carbon fiber. This is about ⅛" inch thick and goes down easily.The carbon fiber material fit perfectly as you can see from my photo, which is good because can't be cut it with scissors or a blade. Living in a salt air and water environment, I took off my steel rockers and sold them right off, and this is a perfect solution. Carbon fiber is an amazing material, those with high end bikes and other sports equipment will tell you,The only con is the nature of the material: Its not cheap, but well worth the no-maintenace lifetime over steel or aluminum painted products. Ive used diamondplate in the past, and that took a lot of work to maintain. This carbon fiber is attached by high grade adhesive, and none of the pieces have budged. Got the pillar carbon fiber and door shield products, and love the look and function.PS - By the way don't confuse this with the carbon fiber vinyl that is used for interiors and some pinstriping, this is the real carbon fiber
