Easy install and no issues
Very satisfied with this. Ive been using it for about a week and i have no issue for the most part. All buttons work, install is simple; but you mist be careful when putting the trigger buttons in place. They insert at an sideways angle. After installation you may have trouble with the bumper buttons sticking. You can easily fix that by shaving down these small tabs on the triggers that get in the way of the bumper buttons. Its 2 small tabs on the top side of the triggers. Once theyre shaved flat there shouldnt be any problem.

Pretty amazing
The install on this was very easy. You really have take your time. So far they work amazing and this is certainly something I would recommend to anyone willing to do surgery on their controller. If that is you then this is a vastly superior to trigger stops and significantly less hassle. One thing that concerned me was I am not hearing the same mouse click sound on the triggers that I hear on R1 and L1 and I’m not sure if that is supposed to be the case. There is the full mechanical action from the button though and everything functions great - just no click sound on the triggers after I installed. Given that the product works fine I see no reason to knock off stars for that.

I'm giving it a 4/5 rating, but with caveats - PLEASE READ
INSTALLATIONIt's not for the faint of heart. You will have to open up and disassemble the controller almost as much as it can be disassembled without removing soldered parts. The company does have a YouTube video that is more helpful than a simple manual for most intents and purposes, and the video is pretty clear, though it might require some pausing and careful scanning to be sure you are putting certain parts in there correctly.Overall, the scariest part is the first step of opening the controller, during which it really feels like you are going to break something. I've opened five different DS4s over the past couple of weeks, and it seems to be the case that you necessarily WILL snap a tiny bracket on the left-inside when you open it. After inspecting the bracket, I'm fairly certain that it is designed purposefully to break when open - maybe for warranty purposes on Sony's part, like to determine whether a controller has been tampered with when they receive a DS4 under warranty for repair. Perhaps they have some special tool that they use to open it without snapping this bracket. Either way, after using the prying tool for the first couple of controllers, I've found with the others (and in subsequent cases where I've reopened controllers I've already opened once) that it's much easier to just forcefully pull one end apart, and then the other. Especially since the prying tool itself takes a great deal of damage after being used once or twice.I tried to photograph the aforementioned bracket that breaks, but it's really tiny and difficult to capture clearly. You'll notice it if you look closely enough, but it won't make any difference in regards to anything. Just be sure to shake out any tiny bit of plastic that might be rolling around the inside of the controller before you reassemble it.THE MODMy biggest complaint about its design is that it's designed for all four shoulder/trigger buttons. If you're like me, you just want to address the pull range of the triggers (R2/L2) so as to make them shallow, and don't have any issues with the shoulder (R1/L1) buttons as they are, either in terms of depth or clickiness. This mod doesn't care. It's for all four buttons, and your shoulder buttons (R1/L1) will ALSO be shallower and more clicky after you fully install this mod.Additionally, if you've read other reviews and questions about this product, you might be aware of the concern of not being able to use both buttons on one side (R1/R2 or L1/L2) at the same time. I can verify that it is a bit of a concern. On both controllers I modded with this product, the L1 (or R1) button will not reliably depress when the L2 (or R2) is also being held down. Sometimes it will a little bit, and it's a little more reliable in that regard if you're pressing straight down on the L1/R1 button from the center/top while holding the corresponding shoulder button, as opposed to pressing the button on its side. It also, for some reason, seems to be more of an issue on the right side than the left. That being said, while there are issues with the shoulder buttons depressing while the corresponding trigger is being held down, the detection mostly seems to work. In other words, the button press is still being detected even if the shoulder button is not depressing.THE GOOD NEWS IN RESPONSE TO BOTH OF THOSE ISSUESI've found is that the simultaneous-press issue can be addressed, and doing so also addresses the first issue I mentioned of not wanting to mod the L1/R1 buttons. The solution is really simple, too: just don't attach the included clear pegs to the L1/R1 buttons. I was told in the questions section here on Amazon that it wouldn't work if it the mod is not fully applied, but it simply isn't true. After being annoyed with the issue of both buttons on one side not being able to depress simultaneously, I decided to pop one of my modded controllers open again and remove the pegs from L1 and R1. After that. I discovered that there was no loss of functionality whatsoever, and that the L1/R1 buttons were no longer as shallow as the mod had made them. And it also thoroughly addressed the issue of not being able to press the shoulder/trigger on one side simultaneously - all four can now be depressed simultaneously without any issues. After that discovery, I immediately removed the pegs from my other modded controller as well.CONCLUSIONI liked it before I discovered that it can be installed without the shoulder (L1/R1) pegs inserted, and I love it now that I have made that discovery. I've used it with several games, and it's just fantastic with all of them. It's going to cripple you with games that require trigger sensitivity (mainly games that involve driving), but if you're looking at this product at all, you probably already knew that. If you want to play a racing game or GTA, you'll still want an unmodded controller for use with those. For everything else, if you're not attached to the feel of deep triggers or straight up dislike it, this is definitely a great solution. I'm taking one star off for the aforementioned defect and design choice, as well as for the unclear answers as far as addressing them, but really, if you just leave the R1/L2 pegs out of the mix, this mod should do exactly what you want it to do.

Works good for the short time it lasted...
The triggers are nice as long as they work. My R1 doesn't click anymore. Its squishy and has no definitive on/off. I expected for them to last longer... The installation was simple other than having to glue the plastic adapters into the trigger housing. Small modifications were made for the product to function properly.

GREAT PRODUCT! But dangerous install!
It's a great product, especially since its only $15. Feels great and sturdy, not like one of those off brand trigger stops. When clicked it sounds just like a mouse click! BUT BE WARNED: the install is complicated, you pretty much have to gut the controller as far as you can, such as disconnecting wires and removing the battery pack as well as the thumb sticks. (THESE WILL ALL BE PUT BACK ONCE THE KIT IS INSTALLED) Overall, great product, so long as you feel ok taking apart your controller!

Great L1 & R1, Decent L2 & R2
Pretty easy to install, as long as you have a brain and decent skills with your hands. I always watch the YouTube videos and read tutorials on how to do any job/mod prior to doing it myself. I’d suggest it, especially for anybody that’s never opened up their controller before. Not real difficult, not something to shy away from. Just watch how to do it first. As for the product itself - I’ve had them installed in my personal controller for over a month now. I use the controller daily, typically for at least an hour or two, sometimes much more. So far: L1 & R1 are nice and tight, with a satisfying “click” and short button travel. I’d give L1 & R1 four stars. L2 and R2 are less tight and give a mushy kind of click. The button travel is very short, so that is nice. But the trigger pad inserts they give you to slide into the L2 and R2 triggers don’t snap down on the click-button pad very cleanly. My L2 trigger is much more “mushy” than the R2 trigger. I’ve taken the controller back apart and ensured I had installed the kit correctly. I had. I am 100% confident I’ve installed it as designed. The mushy triggers, L2 in particular, are why I give this kit three stars overall. L1 & R1 are legit. L2 and R2 need to have a more clean “click”. Have said all that, I would recommend this to anybody interested, and I will most likely buy another one of these for my brother’s controller soon. Honestly extremerate is a badass company and I buy a bunch of their PS4 / Xbox stuff. My kids each have an Xbox, little rapscallions. So we have a PS4/Xbox mix in the house. All of us have something from Extremerate installed. #legit
