Ignore “age 13+”, it’s perfect for 10-12 year olds, too small for most teens & adults
The media could not be loaded. I haven’t reviewed anything in years but I really wanted to review this one because it’s amazing. My son is 10 but will turn 11 in a few weeks. I spent ages going back and forth between this and the smaller pocket mod (petite? I think it’s called?) because this model is advertised as ages 13+ and the smaller one says it’s for ages 8+. My son is about 4’8” tall, he’s great on his little razor electric scooter (the stand up type) that is made for ages 8+ and goes a max of 7.5 mph. Only thing is that my kiddo still hasn’t been able to figure out how to ride a bike, he couldn’t get the hang of it when he was younger and isn’t willing to do training wheels at this point lol so I was nervous about whether he’d be able to figure out how to balance in a sitting-down scooter like this one. And so I was very concerned about not getting him something that’s too big, goes too fast etc for his age and abilities. But this thing turned out to be the absolute perfect match for him. He got it on Christmas and we took it to the park and another kid there had the smaller version of this, the pocket mod petite or wherever it’s called, and she was about 6 years old and the petite was a good fit for her, but it was so small and went so slow compared to this one that I was able to see that I absolutely made the right choice. The petite would’ve been ridiculous for my 10 year old! So the age recommendations on these are just not realistic. The smaller pocket mod that’s advertised as 8+ is more for ages 5-8 and this pocket mod, advertised 13+, is more for ages 9-12.I used my electric scooter along side him and mine has an MPH counter and when I matched his speed exactly, we were going 13-14 MPH, and we did hit 15MPH when going full speed down hills but usually his max was 14 MPH. But I think the advertised max of 15 MPH is accurate so long as the rider is around my son’s weight.Anyway , it’s a great ride for a pre-teen and my almost 11 year old loves it. As I said he’s about 4’ 8” or so tall and he weighs 70 pounds. In comparison— I am 5’6” tall and weigh 150 lbs and am a 35 year old woman. I can sit on it and ride it however with my height it’s an awkward fit, and at my weight it goes much slower but still fast enough to get around, I would guess I was going about 10-12 MPH when I tried it at max speed but that is a complete guess. My husband is 6’2” and 185 lbs and he attempted to sit on it while it was on its kickstand but he’s so tall there was no way he could fit himself into this thing. So I think the advertised max weight of 170 seems right but the more important part IMO would be a max height. It’s a perfect size for my son and seems like it would fit and be appropriate for kids a little shorter than my son as well. And it can fit up to a 5’6” person although by that height it’s a bit cramped but I was able to ride it around, but I wouldn’t recommend buying it for someone that tall, it’s not a comfortable fit at my height. I would think the ideal height range would be around 4’ 6” - 5’ 3” or so, with a little wiggle room on either side but that range seems like it would be the ideal height range for this model. The nice thing is that the throttle and breaks are both at the handles like a typical e-scooter so you don’t have to worry about reaching the pedals with your feet, but you do have to have the arm length to reach the handles, and I don’t believe the seat adjusts forward or anything. But as long as you’re at least 4 1/2 feet tall I don’t think there would be any issue at all reaching the handles. However if you’re too tall your knees will go up to your face and it’s uncomfortable at my height (5’ 6”) and impossible for someone over 6’.Also note that you do need to charge the battery for 12 hours before the first ride, however after that it only takes maybe an hour or so to get a full charge, haven’t watched to see the exact time it takes. My son takes it out with a full charge and drives it around up and down the grassy field near our house for about 45 minutes before it slows down and he needs to bring it home to charge, but by then he’s generally ready to stop anyway, so the advertised battery life of 40 minutes per charge seems correct and it lasts long enough for a kid to ride it for fun until they’re tired out and ready to stop anyway. In the end I would recommend this for kids in that 9-12 range and can say that it was a perfect fit for my son who is somewhere between 4’8”-4’10” and who weighs 70 pounds. I can see this working well for a teen or young adult to get around campus but only if they’re not very tall, I would think someone would need to be a few inches shorter than me to ride it comfortably so I would only buy this model for someone with a max height of maybe 5’3” or so, and also if they’re not too heavy as I think the max weight of 170 is the only recommendation from Razor that’s probably correct. I think the advertised age range on this one as well as the petite pocket mod are completely bogus and I’m a very cautious mom but there’s no way this is for 13+ as many teens and adults will be too big for it. As I said above, after purchasing this and seeing another young child at the park using the pocket mod petite version, the better age ranges would be ages 5-8 for the smaller one and ages 9-12 for this one, but keep in mind that height will be the determining factor here. Also as I mentioned my son has never learned to ride a bike but could balance and ride on a stand-up scooter perfectly. Well he hopped on to this and he was a little nervous and wobbly for the first 30 seconds but that was it. He’s had it for a week and has used it 1-3 times a day every day since he got it, and he has only had one fall when he went full speed over a slightly elevated man hole covering and got a minor scratch on his leg, and he learned to avoid or else go slower over things like that. So if you’re worried about safety, the nice thing is they’re very close to the ground already on this thing. Need to practice the same safety precautions as you would for any bike or scooter but it’s not any more dangerous imo than your standard kids’ scooter, and much safer than a quad, a true moped, things like that.Overall, it’s a great looking sit-down scooter that was the perfect choice for my 10 year old son. Highly recommend this product for kids around his age and size. Hope this info helps! And this review wasn’t sponsored or anything I just write a lot lol.

This is not a toy for small children, made more for young adults or adults.
This is my first electric scooter and I have to say it was super easy to assemble and is super cute! Smaller than I thought it would be but I'm 32 5'5 & 150lbs and it rides great. Its nice and light weight and goes pretty darn fast. The gear to operate is on the right side and you just pull it back and it goes the breaks that are located on the left hand side work great but there's not much wiggle room anywhere pretty tight fit for me. It has a small kick stand on the bottom that is easy to function and it comes with the charger witch is also easy to use and plug in for optimal use. I would recommend this to anyone who needs something to get them around town close to their homes. I also like that it has a little storage area under the seat for a lock or small items. So far after riding it all the way around my neighborhood and some it didn't loose power or slow down on me and stayed cruising. The directions were kind of hard to understand so I just went on Youtube and watched a quick video on how to properly assemble. If someone were to buy this for a small child I wouldn't recommend it I would go with something smaller and slower it does go pretty fast for a Lil guy. All in all I would definitely give it a four star rating because I wish it was a tad bit bigger and that it had lights on it I had to install lights underneath the scooter and in front and back. Also, the initial charge time of 12 hours plus is a long time to wait when your excited to get out and scoot about. I would teeth is to my friends and family who already think the scooter is too cool. All in all its a great scooter for the price if I were to make any changes I would make it a bit larger so riding wouldn't be such a tight squeeze and more foot spacing, I have small feet but there still isn't much space below for your feet. It says the weight restriction is 170 lbs and I'm 150 and she runs great way faster than a bike going full speed and exhausted. Light weight easy to assemble and a great idea for someone who just needs to get around a few miles from home. Its very light weight and could tip over easily and if you plan on taking it places definitely buy a lock and chain because it is so easy to pick up someone could easily take it and put it in a car or truck no problem. Also be careful when taking turns because it can tip easily since there isn't much weight to the scooter. All in all a great buy worth the money for sure!

Battery replacement
I ordered this product and other than short life of battery have had no problems. The batter had to be replaced in less than 5 months.

Great Fun
The media could not be loaded. The Razor moped itself is fantastic—smooth ride, sturdy construction, and an absolute hit with my family. My 8-year-old loves driving it and feels so confident riding around. One of the best parts is that her 3-year-old sister can sit on it with her, and they both feel balanced and safe while cruising together. It’s been a wonderful way for them to play and bond outdoors. Noise level is low, and the battery seemed to last for about 40 minutes with them both riding in it. It says it takes 8 hours to re charge but I did not find that the case, more like 3.Unfortunately, the back wheel flap arrived with a crack in the plastic. While it was disappointing to see, the customer service team was quick to respond and is sending a replacement part at no cost. I appreciate how hassle-free the resolution process has been.Overall, this is a great product with excellent customer service to back it up. Seeing the kids enjoy it so much makes it absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Best gift ever!!
I bought this bike for 11 yrs old and he loves it so much even his little brother and sister enjoy the ride with him too. He says it’s a best gift ever. It’s a perfect mini electric bike scooting around the neighborhood. I’m glad I purchased it. It has a pretty good battery life. Recommended.
