Came in robust cardboard reinforced box again reinforced bt foam box.

It arrived with damage. The voltage dial did not turn to its full limit. We took it apart and discovered the arm that spins on the coil was improperly aligned and not level we leveled it and now it works.

Excellent product. Very good for tube amplifiers which don't have a soft start function. Using this transformer will extend your tube life. Highly recommended.

I have bought many of these -- they work at first, then begin to smoke or malfunction in other ways, such as the cheap fuse holder shorting out. Good rheostats last for decades, but these go haywire in 1-2 years of similar use.
