My Portacool pump finally pooped out due to algae in my water tank. Wasn’t warned about that. Watched a video on replacing it and took a total of 15 minutes. Fired right up. Now I add algae removal chemicals and clean the tank more often. Should last longer this time.

Label says PACPUMPS.COM. Portacooler says this is not their part, and they are not affiliated with Raynor. Portacooler also said they hear issues just like this about PACPUMPS parts. I think we got 2 months of use from this replacement part last summer. We started using our cooler about a week ago this summer and it was making some odd noise in the pump. After about 1 week, it began tripping the Portacooler's inline GFCI interupter. Last week, I sent support message to Raynor, they had no available phone number shown. But no reply. So we can save about $70 buying their product versus buying the authentic Portacooler part. Why is there a link here in AMAZON to a Portacooler storefront, if the seller is not Amazon or Portacooler???? I did not catch that I was buying a sub quality part.

I use this pump for my Port-a-fan because that’s what requires this model works great. Can you give me to pay for it’s not cheap but it last.

This was the exact same factory pump with the correct snap in power plug. Installed time less than 15 minutes. We received this item with a fast shipping time

Not a genuine PortaCool part, but an accurately fitting aftermarket. Install was easy, fitment was exact. Works very well so far. Appears to be of same quality as original.If your concerned about maintaining warranty status, you may want to buy direct from PortaCool, as they insist on genuine parts. This was not an issue in my case. Currently giving 4 stars. Will up down grade dependent on longevity. This pump is seeing roughly 18 hour duty cycles, As of this writing it has logged over 100 hours. Will update at 1000.A tip when replacing, make sure the bracket is installed correctly on the discharge neck so that the bottom of the pump has a bit of space below it. The bracket is meant to attach between the two threaded pieces of the neck. If these pumps sit directly on bottom, they will starve for water and overheat. Also make sure the water level cutoff switch is functional, if you have one. These types of pumps will generally not last long if run dry.I replace these somewhat regularly in my line of work as a service tech, and overheating is the primary cause of failure.

This is the third portacool pump I have purchased. At most you might get two summers out of these very expensive pumps. Even with water that has virtual no mineralization and emptying it out and rinsing it at the end of each summer they just die. You can hear them hum but no water. Take off the bottom and you can hear it rattling but no spin. However you can spin by hand and it starts working but that obviously isn't a solution. It sounds like the brushes are bad but they seal these so you can't easily attempt repairs instead requiring you to spend almost $200 for yet another one or two season pump. I'm done. Going to see if I can find a cheaper replacement on some Chinese site
