Not safe! Caught on fire!
So this was bought and installed in June 2023, fast forward to May of 2024 and I got a battery light on the dash that wouldn’t go away and when testing output of alternator the battery showed 12.2vdc, in other words the always not putting out the required voltage to charge battery. The correct voltage should be between 13.5 - 14.2 vdc! I found the “ALT” fuse blown and replaced it, didn’t fix. I ordered another one from this company yesterday (coming in any time now) thinking it might have had a diode fail. Just pulled this one I. An attempt to make the swap out faster when the new one got here and I found the main plug burned up! Not melted, BURNED UP! I. Other other words it’s charcoaled and burnt, this could have started an electrical fire under the hood and burned my 2000 Xterra up! The one coming today will be sent back and now I have to find an alternator harnesses to repair the one that this alternator burned up! Do not buy this!

Works great Good value half the price of local parts stores & No core charge. Very clean and new looking reman core from Tennessee USA consisting of Good quality new components for a non Hitachi OEM replacement so hopefully and surely longer livegivity than a imported reman, little laxed on low idle can see headlamps brighten a bit on rev up but otherwise great output for a little 80amp alternator it runs my 02 Xterra SE 4x4 loaded down now with 6 subs and two amplifiers putting out bout 2k continuous watts running with a farad or surely the alternator would suffer just like anyone near My truck with all that booming bass going on ! 😁

Does what it's supposed to, but...
I installed this in my 2000 XTerra when the original one quit after 200k+, and it works. However, it has a very loud whine (as in, "Dude, do you have a turbo in that thing?!") I thought it would either quit or the alternator would die, but I have lived with it for a few years now. Oh well.

I bought this product in Oct it is January my car is not working due to this alternator why? I need answers and reimbursement!
