Quality but expensive, extra room for other items
Great bag, made from quality materials. Holds its shape well, and has enough room in the bag that I can carry both my tripod and monopod with ball heads in the same bag, along with a lens shade, and not worry about damaging the carbon fiber. The padding is not too thick, but plenty thick enough to withstand impacts, dropping, etc.It also looks very stylish! I have used it by request as a prop in various photos. The added advantage of the red sportsy stripe is that it doesn't look like you are toting a hunting rifle or anything, as other tripod bags can make you look "suspicious" if you don't have your full camera regalia hanging around your neck and shoulders in the open. Now the downsides:ZIPPER: Although the zipper is a nice high quality and has a nice fabric lip behind it, it is very stiff and a bit difficult to move. I suppose this will become easier with use, but it can still be a bit of a pain. I usually carry this with the top open if I am actively accessing the tripod.WEIGHT: Although I do not consider this bag to be "heavy," it certainly is heavier than most bags, and far heavier than some of the cheap tripod bags that come with some of those cheap aluminum tripod creations of awfulness. That being said, on a hiking trip I would rather have the thin cheap one with just my monopod. This bag is reasonably comfortable to carry for several hours though, so it's not too bad.NO POCKET: This bag has no internal or external pockets, which I miss. It would be handy to have a small pocket for carrying memory cards and batteries, then I could probably lose my larger camera bag altogether when I'm going light.PRICE: Absurdly expensive. Really, it is. A luxury item, surely.Would I buy it again? Absolutely. It is now an essential part of my on-location gear, as well as a place to simply store my carbon fiber. If you use lighting stands, you could probably fit a couple in here instead of lugging around those annoyingly bulky cases. This bag allows me to shoot with reflectors solo, without an assistant. Handy, as long as it is not too windy.

Carry and Protect in Style!
I was hesitant to buy this bag because it's pricy even for a Manfrotto product. However, my Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 tripod fitted with a Manfrotto 502 Video Head MVH502AH are too wide for most most bags, so I bit the bullet and bought the MBAG90PN. This bag is fairly wide (9" internal diameter) so the bulky 502 fluid head fits with room to spare if the the arm is positioned downward. In fact, I can easily squeeze in two small to medium light stands or a smaller tripod if needed.Although my most expensive bag, it earns its keep by being the nicest in appearance and construction. Manfrotto put care into the design and materials: flashy embossed logo on the padded lid, red accent along zipper seams, beefy luggage grade fabric (Cordura?), adjustable strap, supper heavy duty zipper with pulls and a thoughtful design allowing you the option of opening only the end (lid) or the full length of the bag. The padding is dense (closed cell?) and affords serious protection from bumps and scrapes. It has a large zippered inner pocket to organize small accessories like QR plates, spigot, etc. It's large enough to stow the panning handle of my 502 head.GOTCHAs: The heavy duty zipper is stiff, especially the circular area where it goes around the lid. Fortunately, I can easily extract the tripod by unzipping it lengthwise without touching the lid. Maybe the zipper will loosen up with use and help with a Q-tip soaked in silicon.Great new home for my Manfrotto 055 tripod and 502 head: good looking, roomy, thickly padded and easy to carry.

Didn't Think It Was Going To Fit
055 Manfrotto tripod with MHXPRO-3W head: too long for the 80cm case with the head in the upright position. Adjusted the head so that it was in the portrait and full-up position. Zipper closed without a problem. It's a nice case and seems to protect the tripod well. Of course, as with anything with Manfotto's name on it, it's pricey. Still, I think it's a fine product and I'm glad I bought it.

Great bag for great tripods!
This tripod bag is amazing. A time ago, I purchased a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod and a Manfrotto 502 Video Head MVH502AH but never had a bag for it. The tripod was rolled up in a large black trash bag to avoid dust. This bag is solid and well made. The zippers are large and were easy to use after a few pulls. It zips along the length of the bag and then around the top cover in a circular fashion. I felt this was a nice touch if there is an attachment on the tripod that is not removed but still needs to go in to the bag, the design makes this easy. The circular top also allows the removal and drop in of the tripod without having to unzip the entire bag. The padding is firm and is very supportive and protects the internal equipment well. With the above mentioned tripod and head, the bag doesn't seem to add significant overall weight. There is a large internal pocket that can carry documents, small adapters and even small pieces of equipment. As far as storage, even with the tripod in the bag there is space for other equipment that can be stored around it. Don't misunderstand, there is not enough space for the tripod to be playing around unless you fill. The tripod fits perfectly.Great product and still impressed with Manfroto products. Check out my reviews of the tripod and video head.

Fits the Manfrotto 055 3 Leg Section Tripod with X Pro 3 Way Head very well
Fits Manfrotto 055 3 Leg Section Tripod with X Pro 3 Way Head.If you are struggling with this or the unpadded bag, it is indeed a hard choice. I've tried both. The padded one is generously padded with thick tough rubbery foam. It will protect the pod well. Its a bit unforgiving, it terms of flex. It's an expensive bag - the price places it as 3*. Functionally it's 4* because the padding is a tad too thick, IMO.If I could create the perfect bag, it would have half the padding of this version and cost a lot less. The unpadded is good, the head end section IS padded anyway, but the sides are not.As no one seems to have commented on the combo, both fit the Manfrotto 055 3 Leg Section Tripod with X Pro 3 Way Head very well. A little room to spare, but not too much (but enough not to be a pain or need special adjustment - just right in fact.

Top part of a bag too wide if you only have a ballhead.
Good quality bag, the zip around the top part could have been zipping up a bit more smoothly. If you are buying it for 055 with two clamps and a ball head - DON'T buy it as the top part is too wide. This bag is more suited for a tripod with a tripod ahead which has protruding arms. My purchase is going back because of this. Going to buy a 75cm version instead (it has a narrower top).I also thing that the bag is too expensive for what it is. Made in China.

Great Bag
This bag is of a much higher quality than I was expecting, and I can now understand the price of £50+. The materials are strong, the zips are high quality and the design is excellent. If you are wondering whether to go for the padded or I padded version, and your issue is not the size of the bag, go for the padded. Regardless of the protection for the tripod, the padding makes it much more comfortable to carry. One word of warning, I bought this bag to hold my 055ProB with a 141 Junior Geared head. It will fit, but it's a bit of a struggle trying to tilt the head into just the right position to accommodate both tripod and legs. A 90cm would have been much better, but I'm sticking with the compact size. I wish Manfrotto would publish a useful compatibility chart to give a buyer some idea of the size of bag needed. Overall, an excellent quality bag that will do the job perfectly. Whether I would now entrust my tripod to an airport baggage handler is another question, and this will be due to the very tight fit in the bag.

80 cm Padded Case is ideal size match for 055CXPRO4 + 410 Junior Gear Head
Very well made and a perfect length match ( a little length to spare, but not much) for my combined assembly of a Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 (4-section legs) tripod and Manfrotto 410 Junior Gear Head. As most people have said, and I can confirm, the padded bag affords good knock and weather protection for my kit. The (nylon, by the look of it) zip is tight (not too tight such that it won't open or close with ease. But "secure", I'd say) - one round the top circular "cap" section, which is almost rigid, to maintain form, and one along the length of the "barrel" section. One reviewer reported that the top zip was hard to operate. It WAS a little tricky because of its newness and having to close it round the circular top section, but you only really have to do this once, because when it's closed, the two zip "handles" meet at whatever position you have them join. I've found it most convenient to located them at the top of the barrel section as this allows easy placement and removal of the tripod and head assembly without having to open the circular zipped cap section. The zip ends have small semicircular metal loops that will accept a small padlock (not supplied) to lock them together for those who may consider this to be advantageous. The bag carrying strap allows it to be shoulder/ back carried or hand carried. The strap is length-adjustable.The case is larger than I somehow expected, but it's very light, is well-finished in good quality materials and looks "the business". Very pleased. I'm an enthusiastic amateur of retirement age and I expect this will see me out!!

excellent quality, fits a large tripod with fluid head
I've got this bag, and into it I put a Manfrotto 475B Digital Pro Tripod with the Manfrotto M Size Flat Base Pro Video Head, which has the bridge structure so although light, has a reasonable size to it.The bag has a nice zipper structure that coils around the top flap of the bag and then down the side. The top is a very sturdy flap, and the bag is a tough fabric that is padded all the way down. The padding is even inside zippered pockets, so it can be removed and replaced if required (or cleaned, not that I think any spills would easily ingress into the bag padding through the fabric). The padding as delivered is substantial, and is absolutely designed to look after your precious equipment inside. You'd buy this bag for pretty much any Manfrotto tripod (or other brand) that fits inside it, and regardless of the cost of that equipment, you'd be sure this bag would protect it.There is a comfy, wide shoulder strap going the length of the bag, and there is also a handle at what is actually the base of the bag in addition to the two side handles. Inside the bag, there is also a zippered pocket for storing things like the pan/tilt arm from a fluid head, or other fittings.Getting tripods in and out of the bag is a doodle, and my setup described above fits into the bag, although some care is needed when zipping the top, as that rig is just about at the limit of what the bag takes comfortably - a perfect fit, with no room to spare along the length, shall we say.A beast of a bag - don't hesitate!
