El Yucateco Green Habanero Hot Sauce, 4 oz

I like this verde sauce more than any other, it has no vinegary taste. I use it on most all my food and love it on eggs.

This sauce has been my favorite for about 20 year now. I originally found it in a small Mexican restaurant, and I couldn't believe how good it was, especially at the low cost. It's hot and delicious without being salty or vinegary.For some reason I find this version hotter and more long lasting than El Yucateco's Xtra hot version. That one is a short fiery pop that goes away, This supposedly milder version sticks around.A+ sauce.

This has a very strong obvious Habanero flavor, which doesn't taste much different from Caribbean Habanero sauce, the only difference is that the green sauce is missing a carrot ingredient.It does taste subtly different from the red Habanero sauce, but unless you're paying attention you won't notice the missing tomato flavor that the red sauce incorporates.It really is unadulterated pure Habanero sauce, without any other flavor adjustments and with the same basic heat as those other varieties.

This hot sauce is one of my favorites and an iconic condiment for Mexican restaurants around America. It’s goes great with burritos, tacos, eggs and definitely livens up regular salsa. The flavor is aromatic habanero and has quite a bit of kick without being so spicy that it ends up being in enjoyable (but of course that’s going to be a matter of preference).If you’re buying it on amazon you probably already know what you’re getting into.The bottle is on the large side. It’s 8oz, not the more standard 4-5oz hot sauce size, the picture shows the size compared to 4 and 5 ounce bottles.

I don't like hot sauces with the tangy vinegar taste, which seems to be most of them to be honest. El Yucateco is like a unicorn. Their sauces are not vinegar based and quite flavorful in themselves. I keep this one, along with their red sauce, on my coffee table and drip it on a variety of things.Another one I like *exactly* as much as this one is their red sauce (Salsa Picante Roja de Chile Habanero). They are quite similar to each other, yet really different. It's hard to put into words. One just tastes greener, and the other, redder. I don't think I like one over the other.In fact, I'm copy pasting this review for the other one as well. Wish me luck against Amazon's spam detection!I just wish the larger bottles came with flip top caps and a narrower mouth like the plastic bottles in their variety 4-pack.
