This dish is designed to fit larger blocks of butter with plenty of room. What sold me is that the top never touches the butter unlike butter dishes with dome style tops. The large flat disc style handle on top is easy to slip between the fingers. Kind of reminds me of the pop socket device on the back of phone cases. The smooth, silky porcelain is a breeze to clean. The quality of the porcelain is good - not too thick or too thin. It's attractive on the counter. The styling is transitional, complementing any decor. Purchased this for my husband who loves butter. Sure wish we had hunted for a dish like this many years ago. Thank your Sweese. I love your designs.

I bought this to hold one of those Amish butter logs. I had never bought an Amish butter log, just read how awesome they are. I looked at reviews of this & it looked like this was the product to buy. Oh no it is not. There is no way that this can hold a 2 lb Minerva Amish butter log. Minerva might make smaller logs, but that is all I can find in this town. BTW, a 2 lb butter log is enormous. Still I persisted. This is beautiful and well made, and will accommodate something else. Just don’t buy this for a 2 lb Minerva Amish butter log. I am giving it 5 stars because it is actually wonderful, I just misunderstood what I needed. It would be absolutely great for some other butter, like those butter blocks (West coast?) or a 1 lb Amish log (if they exist, I don’t know).

I wanted a Butter Dish, that I could put my plastic butter tub in. Well, it doesn't fit a 15 oz butter tub, it's too tall with the lid, so I took my soft spread butter out of the plastic butter tub, and it fits just fine. I don't use butter sticks, which is what this Large Butter Dish is really for, butter sticks. I do think it would fit a smaller plastic butter tub, especially one that is only 8 oz. Of course it has to fit the shape, of this Large Butter Dish.I can also see it being used, for smaller blocks of cheese.I love the Aqua Color of this Large Butter Dish, as well as the large round handle on the top. This is perfect for butter storage in the refrigerator, as well as it's nice enough to be placed out on your dining table, even if you are having guests.

I have had other butter dishes, containers, butter bells, etc. I was tired of greasy lids, tired of bells...hard to clean, not much butter inside, and the water...yuck. So I searched...and found this one. Nice size to fit a good supply of butter. The handle...truly functional...it is large. The lid does not get greasy...because the butter is down inside the dish! The lovely true white color and design of the dish works good in my kitchen...and cleaning this dish...easy. No more plastic container with lids that seal and butter gunks up in the seal...plastic just does not as easily clean up...even after soap sometimes, plastic can feel greasy. Porcelain cleans up quicker...just run hot water over it. Get's squeaky clean easily!

If you're looking for a nice countertop container, for anything, this is a really nice piece. It's sturdy and substantial, and easy to use and clean. Here's what I was looking for when I bought this item:- can it hold a full pound brick of butter? No, you have to shave off just under an inch off the brick, so that the lid will close completely, without sitting on top of the butter.- if you crammed that in around the sides of the brick, you could say it would hold a whole pound of butter.- is it nice? Yes, very. Looks much nicer than a rubbermaid container sitting on the counter, which is what I really wanted.- is it well made? Yes, very. I put it in the dishwasher, and also regularly clean the lid/handle in between dishwasher trips.- any tips? Yes, one. Be aware of the tiny hole in the narrow section of the lid. When you wash it by hand, or in the dishwasher, just be aware that water can get in there, and you'll want to ensure it can drain quickly & easily.- color variation? Yes, as with any brand, there are variations on the color white. This looks bright white, until you get it next to other items that are true bright white, then it looks a little like a shade of oatmeal.- is it worth it? Yes, I love it and would buy it again. I'd like if they could make the dish height a little taller, so it could accommodate a true 1 lb brick of butter (here in the US). I'd also like it if they offered it in a brighter shade of white.

We had a clear glass butter dish that held one stick of butter. Once the lid finally cracked, after years of use, I've been online wanting a new one. I looked at hundreds....ha ha....and decided on this one. It is sturdy, attractive and we love how oversized it is. It can hold a lot more butter and we don't have to look at the smears we used to deal with from the clear glass one. We can fit in three full sticks of butter, after cutting each in two to fit. We really like the much larger space for holding all this extra butter. The butter dish is a lot heavier and we like how sturdy it is.

This product arrived in tact with secure packaging. I love the turquoise color and this is great in size and capacity for multipurpose use. I have not used it for butter since I also ordered the white butter keeper with the water base by Sweese, but I’ve been using this for smaller batches of desserts and appetizers, such a sweets, cookies, fruits, jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks. I like the knob on this piece, it’s functional and ergonomic that I don’t have to be so careful with the lid slipping from my fingers and dropping. This is absolutely a keeper!

This came today and I am happy about the size. Looks like it will keep our hands from getting greasy with the butter. Love the size and handle.
