Cost effective, Hydrocarbon munching concrete oil stain remover
This is a powder form of hydrocarbon eating bacteria. Completely non toxic and environmentally friendly. Wet the target concrete or asphalt area with water and sprinkle this powder lightly on the stained areas. The little guys will eat oil, gasoline, hydraulic fluid and transmission fluid. Another method is to lightly sprinkle on dry, then sweep the powder around and then mist with a spray bottle to activate the bacteria. This is a two week or so project of sweeping the powder around and watering to activate. A more direct, but more expensive way is to purchase the bacteria as a liquid goop and do the same thing. The thickness and water retention of the liquid goop eats the oil stains overnight, but at a greater cost. The powder covers much more area at less cost, but takes some patience and repeated watering. This works incredibly effectively on my porous concrete paver driveway.

Got an ugly oil stain? Here is the fix!
I can't say enough good things about Terminator-HSD. A couple of years ago I had a 2003 BMW X5 that needed an oil change. For those of you who are familiar with this vehicle, it requires 8 quarts of fully synthetic oil. It took about 45 minutes to do the job in my driveway. After finishing, I went inside the house and cleaned up. Shortly thereafter there was a knock on my front door by one of my neighbors. He pointed to the driveway and the street and said I think your car has a problem. I sure did. Upon closer inspection I determined that hand tightening the oil filter wasn't enough. All the 8 quarts of oil had leaked out! I did my best to mop up what I could with towels and anything else I could find. All down my driveway and into the street was this huge oil stain. I tried about every product I could find over the next couple of days to clean it up to no avail. I almost gave up until I found a video on YouTube showing Terminator-HSD in action. The title was "Terminator HSD Concrete Cleaner Oil Stain Remover." It looked pretty good so I ordered it on Amazon. Given the size of the stain I ordered 3 - 2 pound containers of the product. Until it arrived I noticed people driving by house gawking and laughing at my driveway. Before the product arrived I received a phone call from the company that manufacturers the product. I kid you not! They were calling to let me know there were there to help if i needed it. The product arrived and I couldn't wait to get started. I read the instructions and went to work. Basically you lightly dust the oil stain and brush it in and around until fully covered. That's it. In a few days, I began to see the stain get smaller, and smaller and finally gone. Given the size of my stain I think it took about 2 weeks to completely get rid of the ugly stain. Folks i give you my word, this product is awesome and works as advertised!

Worked fairly well for oil stain on driveway
I bought this to try to get rid of an oil stain on my concrete driveway. I would say it worked pretty well but it did not get rid of the stain entirely.Right after the stain occurred I first tried coating it in a paste of Oxyclean powdered detergent and water. I scrubbed it and let it set for an hour, then washed it away with the hose. It did no good at all. Next I tried baking soda. That didn't do anything either. Then I ordered this product.I followed the directions, laying the powder on the stain and spraying it with a water bottle several times a day. I added more powder once a week. See pics attached (before, then at 2 weeks and then at 5 weeks). Although it isn't perfect, I think it is good enough.

Did not work -- at all
I had a spill of hydraulic oil (amsoil synthetic, to be exact) on a concrete cobblestone driveway. I followed directions, went through 6 cycles of application, adding moisture, etc. It made no difference whatsoever, though the stain looked a little lighter when there was powder on it. Tried it as a test on a cinder block and got the same result, which was nothing.Update -- Well it did a faceplant on the synthetic hydraulic spill I bought it for, but I've tried it on some other spills and it worked well. So I'm adding two stars.

It takes time and patience, but that oil spot will disappear
I was hesitant that this was going to erase the oil stains in my driveway. I was absolutely shocked as the oil stains became lighter and then eventually disappeared. Even though the old driveway is cracked it looks exponentially better than it did. This is much better for the environment than using degreaser and other chemicals that are rinsed into the gutter. All drains lead to the ocean and you need to protect the dolphins somehow. This product takes time to work. This is not a spray on scrub a little let's sit for five minutes and then rinse off and it's gone. You play the long game with this product if you want a good looking driveway again. It doesn't take any scrubbing at all. You sweep off the oil spot, sprinkle this on and brush back-and-forth to cover the spot and then missed with water to activate the microorganisms that breakdown the petroleum product.

Not a good solution for concrete pavers
This product when used as directed did nothing to remove old, set-in oil stains left by delivery vehicles over a period of a year. It might be more effective on smooth concrete surfaces, garages, etc., or those with fresh stains. I can't say it won't be a good solution for those scenarios. For my paver stains, I tried pre-treating with both individual applications and mixtures of Lowes paver cleaner and Dawn detergent. I followed with a 4200 PSI pressure washer. Nothing lifted the stains. My paver installer said the pavers would have to be replaced. A neighbor told me about a product called Gator XP Oil and Grease Remover. It's expensive but it was brush on, let dry, hose off. It lifted at least 90% of the stains. The driveway looks great again.
