Nintendo DS Lite Polar White (Renewed)

I was a little nervous to buy this seeing the overwhelmingly positive reviews. You never know if they are all fake reviews, however, I took the chance. It was a gift for my boyfriend after all! He REALLY wants to play Pokemon again, but he lost his DS years ago and I wanted to surprise him with it. Even just opening it myself gave me a blast from the past!Regardless,I bought the DS specifically from "Console Replay." I don't know if that makes a difference in the quality, but I thought I'd include it just in case anyone is curious. The DS works well so far though! The sound is good, the screens are not scratched or broken, and the buttons seem to work (other than the direction pad, it is a tiny bit loose. Overall though it still works). The game slot sounds like it might have some grime in it, but I inserted a game card and the game still ran. Awesome! The exterior is pretty clean too and had the stylus inside. The stylus was working well and wasn't broken despite those things being the easiest part to break or lose. The best part though was that it came with its own charger. I really enjoyed not having to buy a separate cord for the device. Unfortunately, I don't have any gameboy cartriges so I wouldn't be able to test it out, but I'm sure it would work well too based off of everything else. Overall, it was a pretty good buy. I'm glad I did take that chance, although I hope nothing changes with the DS (quality wise) in the meantime.

The system arrived in good condition. I am very happy with what I got for what I paid. It doesn't play modded games, but it does play standard DS games. I'm happy with the purchase.

First, and foremost, as an Amazon Refurb item this product SHOULD come with a charger. It did not. So, even though it technically works and came pre-charged... I guess I only get to use it once?Second, the packaging was terrible. There was one small single piece of bubble wrap in an overly large box and that's it. No casing, no protection, just a DS Lite rattling around in a box eight times its own size with about 15 bubbles worth of bubble wrap to hopefully cushion the 1800 mile journey. I'm genuinely surprised it arrived with only a few scuffs and not completely broken.Third, it was disgusting. Just pulled out of a toddler's mouth disgusting. I had to take the entire thing apart and clean it with alcohol wipes and cotton tipped applicators before I could even consider giving it as a gift, which was the intent here.Fourth, it wasn't "refurbished". It wasn't even reset. In fact, I'm pretty confident that they just took it from that toddler and shipped it directly to me. All of the original owners settings were still in place. Which for a DS is pretty impressive, considering they take less than 5 seconds to reset. Clearly this company didn't have ten seconds to spare... five for the reset and five to throw in enough bubble wrap for the journey.Fifth, there was no GBA cartridge port cover. I guess we just leave a game in it indefinitely.Last, it's not "Polar White" as described. It's incredibly yellowed and from what appears to be sun damage.The only thing I can say that's positive I guess is that it does in fact turn on... but from the looks of everything else I don't expect that to be a recurring win.

so far it works great no damages that i see a little bit of dirt but better than I expected I’ll add updates if it starts acting up but I want to mod it so we will see how that goes but honestly works great

I bought this for my boyfriend’s birthday and I wanted to make sure it was working well before I gave it to him. This brings me way back to my childhood hood this works so well and come with charger. It is very clean and kept jn great condition

Everything worked perfectly minus the charger. It didn’t work so I opened it and saw that one of the cables wasn’t attached so I mended the wire to the main plug and sorta fixed it. Although it charges now it takes a long time to fully charge. Thanks

Worked great and my son loved it.

Pros:• Both screens were near mint (bottom screen hada touch of yellowing though).• See through case has very minor almostunnoticeable scratches.Cons:• This is definitely not arctic white or whatever itwas originally released as. It has yelloweduniformly into a more banana cream color.• The right dpad needs about twice the standardpressure to register.• I was hoping the bottom dust cover would beincluded for GBA because it was listed aseverything that came in the box originally wouldbe included, it was not.• When I received the device and took it out of thebag, I noticed a very big issue that would affectmost regular people. Whoever took this DS apartlast more than likely didn't hold the power switchin the "off" position when reassembling thebottom half because it was locked into the "on"position meaning you can never flick the powerswitch back up to reset it or power it up.• This device is Japanese. Luckily, the DS Lite isn'tregion locked, but I did have to set it up inJapanese before I could get into the menu andchange it over to English. So beware if you getone and it is in Japanese. Just enter all your basicinfo and after you reset it, there is an option atthe bottom to change your worldlocation/language.All in all, if you know your way around electronics and can fix little small things like cleaning the dpad contacts or fixing a power switch stuck in position, the physical condition is somewhat worth the price if you want a near mint console. I'd probably buy from again if I was in a hurry or crunch, but knowing what I know from this one, if you are completely NOT tech savvy, I'd buy hoping it is as described but expect it to come missing a part here or there and probably discolored if your color is prone to that.
