Skyscrapers: A History of the World's Most Famous and Important Skyscrapers

I bought this book for a 4 year old who loves skyscrapers, this is an older version but its available used at a fantastic price and he loves it. Wish more of the pictures were in color.

Informative with great pictures

Had seen this book before and wanted a copy for myself. Enjoyable and informative!

Especially liked the foremat of depicting skyscrapers in a tall thin book. Great.perspective, uniq;ue way to show tall buildings. Clever

I wish this book had photos of more of the world's largest skyscrapers but this a quality book nonetheless.

This is an absolutely amazing book with beautiful photos and explanation of history of magnificent Skyscrapers all around the world.With easy to read format, there are two pages that are dedicated to one building which shows the past and the present. I have always been interested in architecture but I have very little knowledge. However, even not knowing exactly everything, it was very easy to navigate and learn from this edition. A great book to have in everyone's library.

With an impeccable presentation, the book faithfully maintains the original context of each building represented with beautiful black & white photos. It gives the reader a nuts-and-bolts perspective: Judith Dupre, et al, along with the enigmatic architect, Philip Johnson, the unparalled book takes the reader on an incredible journey. From the pioneering Reliance Building in Chicago to the defunct World Trade Center in New York City, from the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco to the Ulm Cathedral in Germany--it never ceases to amaze me, the enormous contributions these towering marvels have made in our behalf. They're magnificent places where people gather to work and make an honest living. And, they're magnificent places where people gather to worship and reflect upon life's mere existance. All things considered, this book will inspire any aspiring architect to reach for the sky. At home, it proudly sits atop my desk. If you're an architectural buff, this is the book for you.

book is a gift. Review stated "small rip on front cover" but when it arrived, the "small rip" is really much more than small! I will try to repair it or just give it without a cover. Book is as stated but sorry that "small rip" was more than stated.
