Winco Brass Wire Oven Bristle Brush with Metal Scraper,Brown,Medium

I built a pizza oven in my yard and was looking for tools so I could start cooking pizzas. Since you build the fire in the center of the oven, you need to be able to push the coals back once the oven gets up to an operating temp of about 850 degrees. The brush/scraper can also be used for cleaning the oven.I wanted a decent one, so naturally my first stop was Amazon. I searched for "pizza oven brushes" and found this Carlisle 40291-00 9" Oven Brush and Scraper but then I looked at the price and realized there is no way I am spending $244 on a broom! So I searched some more and found this brass bristled brush/scraper without a handle. Since I had an extra handle at home, this worked out perfectly.I received the brush/scraper and have tried it out a few times. It works great! It is also a sturdy unit and appears to be well made. And at $9.98 its also $234.02 less expensive than the other brush. Being the semi-smart consumer shopper that I am, it looks like a fantastic deal.Now its time to spend the $234.02 I saved on this purchase to buy other cool stuff!

I have used this in a woodfired brick pizza oven for the past several years for cleaning any residue between pizzas.

It a brush. It brushes well. It is also a scraper. In this role it scrapes well. Has not caught fire while using it in a pizza oven which is a bonus.Adding a handle meant that my hand will not be cooked along with the food in the future. Think about adding that to your cart before you spend the day washing you hands in cold water and wondering why it feels so good.

I just built a brick pizza oven and ordered all my tools on the cheap. I was first concerned that this brush will not take the heat of my oven because it has a wood base but after a couple uses it has performed flawlessly. For the price you can not beat it, the only thing I wish it could do is pivot. But is I wanted that feature I would need to pony up more money. This is well worth the money and I have no complaints.

Did not come with a handle - so that kinda sucked...hard to use without a handle so have been trying to find a handle for it.... hopefully will work great with a handle! Looks to be sturdy....

UPDATE: Lasted one year, an entire row of bristles came off.You get what you pay for. The rows of brissels are all in line, so you don't get a clean sweep, you get rows of ash. The scraper works well though.

Got this brush for my pizzas oven. Removed the metal plate so it wouldn't be too wide to fit through the oven opening. Just a few screws to unscrew. Use a broom stick you can screw on the back. Quality brush I expect to be able to use a long time.

Excellent item. Good Price, good delivery time. A little bobble with the shopping cart, but that is on amazon,not on the product.The uses for a wire wire brush, with a long handle and a scraper on the back, go far beyond pizza ovens. Really enjoying this tool.
