Overall, very nice
Packaged very nicely and the engraving is perfect. I gave it a 4 because the material on the inside of box seems cheap and a little crudely done and the compass needle has a cheap green gemstone on it, which I didn't know before purchase.

Gave this as a gift to my husband. He liked the needle stop when compass is not in use. Just a minor dislike - the wooden box it is stored in does not open easily. You need to pry it open.

Looks great but doesn’t work.
I got this for an 8th wedding anniversary gift for my husband. It arrived packed well. The box it came in was pretty difficult to open but we did get it open. The compass itself looks great. There are no major blemishes or markings and the engraving looks great. BUT......it doesn’t actually work. The little red tip that should be pointing north floats between northwest and southwest. We live in Colorado, so it isn’t hard to figure out which way north is, but the compass has yet to get there.
