Excellent scanner with coding, bi directional controls and great customer service to boot
I wanted to start out with how well this scanner works. I own Autel IM608, Ultra and now the MK908. I know many people worry about this because it’s not USA supported and won’t do Chrysler’s fca autoauth blah blah blah well that’s true however for the money this mk908 has the same body and software as the IM608 hardware which is way better than the ms906 ms808 and the ms908. This scanner also is a 10.1” screen which is really nice and very fast processor etc. I own many scanners including snap on, Bosch , launch etc and this mk908 fills the holes of those. Let’s face it no one scanner does it all however if I had to live with just one this would be it. This mk908 will do coding, bi directional controls, some key and fob programming etc. note; this does not program Ecu’s etc you need the mk908P and the j2534 box with it. You will also need a laptop as the j2534 plugs into laptop not the scanner. I’ll update this review as I go but I wanted to start here.If you notice I bought an Autel VCI100 to use with my MK908 vs that brick VCI that comes with it. I added a yellow bumper to it and a obd2 cable so I don’t leave it in a car. You can also use the VCI mini with it, you don’t have to use the black box VCI that came with it.Ps the customer support that I received is bar none the best I’ve had in a while. Don’t forget just because a seller is in China etc you can use WhatsApp to call and text them for support, it’s not like you can’t get in touch. The days of going to brick and motor stores are over anyway.

Best choice I made.................
I am a professional automotive technician with 30 years of experience and have used a multitude of scanners in my time. I must say that this scanner goes above and beyond my expectations. In the short time I have had it I scanned about 10 different cars and got full fault list from every one.... not just engine faults. Scanned every module on Bmw, Audi, Mercedes, Chevrolet, Ford etc. I used the scanner to release and re-engage rear electronic parking brake on Audi, reset service lights on Mercedes and Audi and test and activate rear air suspension on Bmw. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this scanner to anyone interested in an advanced scanner. Super easy to use, update and set up. Wireless connection is solid and requires no initial setup. Just plug in and go. Great product!! It is not going to be a walk in the park to learn this if you are not used to navigating this type of unit. Run the Update software as soon as you can and do it a couple more times after that to get the first batch done, then once a week to stay current. Some people answering questions are not telling the truth about updates and Autel's commitment to the unit. I spend a lot of time in a garage where they are trying to get by with handheld model they never update or a Snap-On unit that they pay subscription for. This is way past the mid-way point between those two units.

Lots of abilities in a small package...will do a multitude of things for an affordable price
I purchased this scanner for my own use. I am DYI'er and I have been having issues with my personal vehicle...I borrowed an AUTEL scanner from my mechanic at work but had to give it back (he hadn't purchased a new one yet) I was going to buy his old one. I have friends with trucks and will be assisting them with issues as well...I am very pleased with my MK908. I have been able to figure out some of the gremlins I have been fighting with in my truck. I am very pleased with my scanner and hope to use it for a long time to come.

Won’t boot up/inoperable
The tool works great, however there is an issue (at least on my car- 07 Saab 9-7x. Whenever I scan my vehicle it shows up with anywhere from 15-150 P codes. There’s nothing wrong with the Saab, I double checked with multiple snap on scanners. I contacted Chris with Autel tech support. He informed me that there was a glitch when I downloaded all the software and recommended I reset and re download everything. He gave me his email address Incase i had any problems. Well I did have problems- nothing has been fixed, and Chris from tech support autel in New York won’t return my emails. It’s been over a month. Autel needs to step up there game on customer service. If this isn’t resolved I will return it. Update 10/17/19: I was immediately contacted by Autel direct after I made my initial review in September. Vincent from Autel was in constant communication with me constantly giving me updates on my issue as his engineers worked on fixing a software glitch. Unfortunately Vincent informed me it may take the engineers 3 months or more to fix. As you may guess I was getting a little irritated, but Autel/Vincent made me an offer I could not refuse. Continue using my scanner with minor software problem (which only acts up on a 07 Saab 9-7x) until the new software is released next summer, and then they will send me a brand new scanner with the latest software. I immediately agreed to his offer. This will also save me $700 as I will not have to pay for next years update. I am changing from 2 stars to 4 stars. Only reason I can’t give 5 stars is because of the terrible tech support out of New York. Vincent promised me the New York tech support team would be re trained, and I believe him. If and when I ever need tech support again and have a pleasant experience I will re update to 5 stars. UPDATE: 2/10/20 today my scanner out of no where is inoperable. When powered on it gets stuck on the autel maxisys screen. Autel tech support gave me a file to put on a SD card to do a factory reset. Like a boot up disk. It did not work. When I informed them it didn’t work, they asked me to take a video showing 1: SD card files were properly downloaded, and 2, show myself putting the card in and showing them that it’s still stuck on the boot screen. I have read in autel community forums of this happening to people. Some people even think they were targeted by autel for not updating. According to autel this is a new problem. I am eagerly waiting for an email from them for a solution. Not even 6 months old it should just stop working one day. I’ll update the outcome
