O2COOL Battery Powered Personal Fan With Lanyard, Cools Face and Neck

I used this product to be able to endure hot days of soccer for hours at a time. As a grandmother the heat can be so terrible especially at 1:00 in the afternoon. I ordered a second one for my daughter in law. The most recent purchase was to replace a small battery fan a friend was using that she had to hold to blow on her face instead of having the nice chord and the direction of the cool air pointing up.

The fan works great. My sister has hot flashes, I gave her the fan for a Christmas Gift.

Without going into a long desertion; in order to keep my wife comfortable we keep the temperature set at least 79 degrees and the breeze from fans causes her problems as well. My comfort level would be 72-74 degrees with ceiling fans going. Since this is not possible this little fan sure helps my comfort level. It produces a very focused breeze that I can direct to my neck without bothering my wife. It is not overly loud, I can easily hear my TV while this fan is running. I am getting 6 plus hours of run time on a pair of rechargeable AAs. Do wish the neck cord was adjustable without tying a knot in it. Also, multiple speeds would be nice. Overall, for the price, I am quite pleased with this little fan and recommend it.Update: I have had this little fan for two months now, using it about 10 plus hours a day and it still works great. Hardly any noise, runs smoothly and I am getting 5-6 hours run time using rechargeable batteries. I solved the nonadjustable cord problem by using a cheap cord lock, the type used on camping gear. I can now adjust it to fit where it best suits me.

Any battery you put in this doesn't last long!! Maybe 2 or 3 times at the most.It really drains them!!!

THE GOOD: Quiet operation, noticeable air circulation (that actually makes a difference) very inexpensive and inconspicuous design that can be hidden under a shirt.THE BAD: Not as thin as a cell phone and can be mistaken for something insidious.For those who easily sweat, always hot or require more time to adjust to different environment temperatures, this is definitely a must have. The air circulation is much more powerful than the typical handheld battery operated mini fan and far less obvious.Its powered by AA battery and is easily powered for hours on imitation batteries from the Dollar Tree. Only a few people have noticed my use of it and its mistaken for a cell phone or voice box lol.This is well worth the price I paid $3.99 before the heat came around and still worth the $11.99 cost its being sold for now during summer months.The only problem I have encountered with this device have been overzealous security at hospitals, a government office and police check points boarding the subway who become immediately suspicious of the device and refer to others before handing it back and letting me pass.While not so much as a problem, rather just a preference, I do wish it were possible to provide the same air flow in a thinner design but for the comfort it provides, that is in no way a deal breaker.

We keep these in all of our bags and cars. Living in a hot and humid climate, having moving air is really helpful. These are light weight and easy to turn on and off. We use these for our small children as well as adults, and the next strap is adjustable for tinier users.

Update Sept. 2016: Do not buy this. It is apparently very poorly made and will die after a short time. After using it less than 10 minutes/week, always while sitting still (so it never got banged around), mine has completely died. At first it would randomly speed up and slow down, then it would just flat out stop even though it was still on. Sometimes turning it off & on a few times would bring it back to life for a minute, then it would stop again. New batteries had no effect. Changing from 3 stars to 1 star due to low quality.Original review: It works, but it's noisier than I would like. The sound it makes is uneven, almost like it's speeding up and slowing down, as if it or its batteries are dying, which makes me wonder how long it's going to last (I've only used it 3 times so far). Because of its shape, there's no way to use it on a counter or table without creating some kind of elaborate contraption to prop it up. The only way you can use it is with it hanging around your neck or holding it in your hand. Note that it only has one speed.
