Profoto 33 in. Deep Small Umbrella (White) (100983)

I've been a Profoto for nearly two decades and have never been let down in terms of quality, value and service. This umbrella has seen near daily use and is now one of my favorite modifiers. This umbrella serves many uses for me. When lighting interiors, the white interior provides ample efficiency with no color contamination. The falloff is fantastic and is easily modified by zooming the head. This is also used in portraiture and makes a very nice, even fill for portraits keyed with a magnum.If this was lost tomorrow, I would immediately replace it with the same thing without hesitation.

For an umbrella the price is a little high, it seems pretty sturdy and opens and closes smoothly. The carrying bag is nice also. I wish it were a little deeper. Profoto has been proclaiming their umbrellas to be heat resistant, I'm somewhat skeptical of that. I left a profoto deep L umbrella set up and someone moved it beneath a canned ceiling light, it was a good foot and a half away and it melted a hole in that umbrella. It will withstand the heat coming from your profoto modeling lamp provides it's not stuffed all the way in, but you have to stay cognizant of other heat sources. I guess melting is better than catching fire, and they didn't proclaim them to be heat proof. If this was $100 I would recommend it all day as its larger than a beauty dish, but more portable. I know an umbrella isn't quite the same quality of light as a dish, but the larger size makes this a softer light source in close proximity, and the deeper construction does help it produce a more focused distribution of that light than say the kit umbrella.

Profoto prices with profoto quality so its awesome and i love it. The white is so much more pleasing then the silver but i have both since i can use the silver for wider hard light shots but still have a small footprint when mobile.

I got angry at receiving the product, the umbrella bone was bent, and there was a hole in the bag, although the quality of the umbrella was good, but I wanted to know what was going on in the delivery process?
