Detailed analysis of Plato, a mouth piece of his master Socrates. Deals of effective admin, welfare of the people, human love and compassion, etc. A must read for all our politicians. Plato puts forth a matured thought of an ideal King or Empire visualising an ideal society comprised of ideal people, generation next and vision. To put it in a nutshell, Yatha Raja Tatha Praja. If the king is of good virtues, ethical then people also follow him. So the ruler must be an ideal person. We have seen King Janaka popular as Rajarshi. Raja with qualities of a Rishi. So that then only a strong powerful and ethical nation can be built. One should appreciate Plato's thoughts. And that's the result of an ideal guru Socrates. It's really surprising that thinking lines of Greece and India are the same. If at all any country can come nearer to India that's Greece. So Republic is a dream of good nation, citizens and the next generation future. In fact many countries have adopted Plato's thoughts in Republic, in their constitution. I have thoroughly enjoyed Plato's works Republic and I recommend one more book Dialogues of Plato. Must reads for good citizens of every nation. Republic is the Constitution of the World.

Republic is a long and difficult book to go through, not all made easy thanks to it's poetry like language. Most of the book, is in form of fictional dialogues between Aristotle and his companions. They discuss various aspects of society, including what makes a good & bad man, the meaning of knowledge and of course forms of governance.This is the treatise where Plato's famous Allegory of the cave is discussed in detail. It is not something you pick up for light reading. But for improving your intellectual faculties, and understanding of society, this book written in Ancient Greece but somewhat relevant today, is precious.____________________________As for the product, the book is well made, beautiful cover, and the pages are of good quality. For the price specified the product is worth the effort and cost.

Books great! But the physical book itself is damaged and kind of in rough shape,which is not so pleasing.A better quality was expected,though the book itself from inside is great,easy to understand,even for age 14
