Great upgrade from ball head
This is an excellent high quality accessory. Please be aware that you will most likely need to purchase an L-bracket if you are using a DSLR or other large cameras to mount the camera directly onto the gimbal head. I have a D850 and physically have to have an additional L-bracket. For those with lens mounts you should be able to get away and use the quick release plate that comes with the new E-6H. Great feel and love the fluid like motion. It will add little over 2 pounds to a tripod (but the it is only a pound more than the ball head I am replacing). Overall wish I had purchased this a long time ago!

Awesome Gimbal
I can’t compare this to other gimbals as this is my first and mast one that I will buy. It is well made and easy to use with my camera and big lens. I have not used it on a trip and suspect that it will not be used in hiking but rather for car trips and short walks from the car. I bought the gimbal separately from the tripod legs as I already owned a set of sturdy carburetor n fiber legs. Total cost of the rig was approx. $800 (legs included).

very versatile and useful
This Gimbal head is the most useful tripod head I have used. Makes taking shots of the overhead sky easy. Adjusting knobs is quick and they stay put once I find the angle I want. I've used 600mm lenses on it and it stays balanced. May not suit a professional but for any other photographer, it will do the job well.

High quality build, lightweight, gimbal head.
I chose this gimbal head over the Benro GH5C cabon fiber head and a couple of other contenders. I wanted something lightweight to use with a new CF tripod (with bowl head). I wanted something that would work well with my 150-600, but also for my usual landscape pics. The main reasons I chose this over the Benro and others were:1. lighter weight. Even with the L-bracket, which is not always needed if not shooting with a long lens, it weighs less than the Benro by several ounces. Somewhat surprising as it is made of machined alum, vs CF. If you don't include the L-bracket, it only weighs 1 lb 13 oz.2. When using without the L-bracket, you can adjust the arm so that it moves the camera back to approximate the nodal point, making panorama shooting very quick and easy (I always have an L-bracket on my camera).3. truly fine workmanship. The components are very well made. The only issue I have (hence 4/5 stars) is that when fully unlocked, the head does not float (spin) completely freely in either axis (like a traditional gimbal head would). There is still a fair amount of friction, which can make panning less than smooth when shooting video. My feeling is that when completely loosened, the head should spin effortlessly. Some people may disagree and find this remaining friction to be a good thing. One minor point, why do they make a gimbal head (which is often used for wildlife photo), with silver knobs? Granted, the knobs are not polished, but what about a flat black or brown option? Finally, at $450, this is not a cheap choice and if weight is not a major factor, there are several other options.

Got A Great Price
This was one of my top pics for a gimbal head, and when it came on sale I grabbed it. Sturdy, smooth, well built. Using a nodal offset bracket for panoramas, and the base head for action shots.Would buy again.

Outstanding Gimbal Head
Awesome Gimbal Head well machined, super smooth glides up and down and left to right. I have this head mounted on the Fotopro EGL-65 Eagle Series 5-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod with Quick Level by far the best tripod I've used
