I recommend at least 2 so the PAR numbers are good ...
I had my doubts about this product from the start being LED... But what I can't say I was proven wrong... It has no problem growing corals with just one bar... I recommend at least 2 so the PAR numbers are good at the bottom.. The only flaw is if you don't get the dimmer.. You have to plug and unplug the lights to get them to turn off... And the dimmer works great if you just want to have really low light at one time or full blast to get things growing... I just bought another one...
