is this flashlight zoomable?

No it is not zoomable. It is so bright that you you don’t need that function. I bought this one for my son and i have had one for years and i love mine.

Does holding the mode button activate the strobe function without changing the flashlight mode?

You can activate strobe in two ways: 1. Cycle the stone function or 2. When the light is on, hold the mode change down and the light will jump to strobe mode.

Does it have a regular micro-USB charging inlet, in case the custom one gets lost or damaged?

No, this tactical flashlight only compatible for our USB magnetic cable, or you can take out the battery and charge it with a different charge system, like 18650 battery charger.

my light don`t work when you take off the charge cable, but works fine when cable hooked up. charge two days stillthe same took card out bottom?

you need click the end pressure switch 1 time after you hook it to the charger, then the light will turn red inductating that the flashlight is charging.
