Honestly I was looking for a wool or down duvet because her room is in the mid-50s at night and I thought a cotton comforter wouldn't be warm enough, but I couldn't find anything toddler sized in down or wool that was within our $100 budget once I got a cover for it (crazy right?). I compromised on this and absolutely love it. When it first came I was a bit skeptical because it seemed thin for what was supposed to be their winter-weight comforter, but after one wash it lofted right up and is very cozy. It has some nice weight to it without being too heavy. On cold nights we toss a down throw over top of her, but even without this she has always said she was warm during the night and she isn't waking up cold, so we're calling it a success! I wish it were oeko-tex or at least GOTS certified (and organic but then I probably wouldn't be able to afford it), but I'm happy with this blanket as a compromise between $$ and my desire for a non-toxic bedding. And while it wasn't important to me, I absolutely love the pattern!
