Can I use it to run an air conditioner ?

An average central ac will use 3000 to 5000 watts of power every hour for around 9 hours a day during the hotter months (see http://energyusecalculator.com/electricity_centralac.htm for details). Single room air conditioners come in different sizes and use from 500 to 1500 watts (see http://energyusecalculator.com/electricity_airconditioner.htm for details). It may be possible to use a small A/C for a few hours with this inverter and a solar setup, but I doubt it would really work.

Is there a model that comes directly with clamps? I won't be needing the cigarette plug

Will rhis power a 120V shop Vac?

pls check the total power of your shop. This is a 2000W inverter only, can not power up appliances more than 2000Watt.
