341241 Dryer Drum Belt Compatible with Whirlpool Kenmore Dryers

My dryer belt broke and needed to be replaced, so I looked up the part number and searched Amazon. I found this belt, which I had actually replaced about 6 years ago, so I decided to order it again. Delivery was quick through Amazon Prime. I also found a video online showing how to replace the belt on my dryer model, so I started disassembling the dryer myself. During the repair, I had to remove the drum because I noticed the spring roller guide near the motor had shifted out of place. I put that back where it belonged, reinstalled the drum, and then placed the new belt around it. From there, I had to work my way to the back of the motor, connect the belt to the motor pulley, and pull the spring-loaded roller guide tensioner back into position so the belt would have the proper tension. Overall, this should work fine. The last belt I replaced lasted about 6 years, so I’m hoping this one gives me a similar lifespan. The price is very reasonable, and with labor and the cost of a new dryer being much higher than before, DIY belt replacement is definitely the way to go. I’d also recommend checking the roller guides during the repair to make sure they’re still in good shape and spinning properly, since replacement rollers are available too. Do look up what your belt part number is for replacement. This belt fit my model well and is perfectly compatible. After replacement, it works the same without any noise increase compared to before. Now how easy is it to replace really depends on your make & model.

Our older dryer stopped working so we decided to attempt repair ourselves. The clothes weren't drying because the drum stopped turning. Instead of hiring repair service or buying new, the price of this belt was good enough to attempt ourselves. With no experience in appliance repair, we were able to find a video to show correct disassembly of the unit. We found our suspicion was correct as the old belt had broken. *it was OLD. After 5 minutes to disassemble, 10 mins to clean dust and lint, 10 mins to install new belt and reassemble- our dryer works again. Super glad we tried this first.

Be aware, your old failed dryer belt may be stretched out and won't measure what it's supposed to when new! This happened here, the blower and drum both run off the same drive motor in a basic laundry dryer. Ours had got some.sand and pebbles from river and camping which wedged in the blower housing and stopped the motor from spinning properly... It would turn a bit, then skip a bit and so on-- this caused damage to the belt like abrasion and partially cut or wore thru the rubber so when removed it measured about 2in longer than this #341241 and the numbers on the OEM belt were worn away.. so maybe double check you own repair project before ordering but be assured- for a basic front load whirlpool this is the correct size and the price is right! Also, be aware, the new belt is tricky to install by yourself, an extra set of hands could be helpful....I worked alone and had to use a couple.blocks of wood to support the drum while wrestling the belt onto the tensioner pulley, it will be much tighter fit than the old worn out belt! #IYKYK. If your (Whirlpool Cabrio or many similar) clothes dryer is squealing when the drum turns, this surprisingly sturdy and affordable belt is the likely solution to the most common cause. It was an easy install from the REAR of our appliance. Be sure to find an installation video that shows that approach and not the far more frustrating installation from the front.

Narrower than oe but good thickness and the right price! Tightness works for my Maytag / Performa dryer. Time will tell on durability.

I didn't know much about dryers so when ours stopped working I thought.. great!! I get to spend a few hundred dollars on something I really don't want to spend it on! Anyways I started shopping around and kept coming across brand names that were refurbished and ridiculously cheap compared to the same exact models brand new. This lead me to wonder what internal parts could be inside a dryer if well trusted brands were being sold by well trusted sellers. Thats when I learned that's its essentially a motor, a pulley, and a belt.. aside from the drum itself or the casing obviously. Anyways turns out a very common thing is the belt breaking, the pulley breaking or coming detached, or both problems combined. There are other issues that can go wrong but really the last main part involved in the dryer internally is the motor. Anyways turns out you can do some quick research and find tons of very helpful info or videos online on how to check the parts i mentioned for failure. Essentially it took me 5 to 10 min to verify that the belt in my dryer had indeed broken, that the idler pulley had become detached from the slots in the casing it attached into (probably as a result of the excess tension that occurred when the belt broke), and that amazon sold either of these parts separately or together for so cheap it'd make your head spin (not really your head just your dryer hopefully). After I got the new belt the following afternoon, I spent 30 min putting it on and I can't tell you how cool i felt being able to lean over that thing and tell my wife how the dryer worked again and we'd be saving 800 dollars on a new one we thought we had no choice but to get.. turns out you don't always need to spend tons of money on these things and you can save an arm and leg with some fairly simple work and a cheap Amazon purchase but the outcome is not cheap as in a cheap fix to "hold you over until the inevitable." It's that ppl like me who don't understand these fairly simple components inside go bad and need replacing sometimes and thats what was so shocking to me.. in this case it was cheap because that's really all it cost to correctly fix my dryer!

Terrible product. Spend a few more bucks and buy from a site that sells OEM parts. This one came apart after not even 6 months of use. And there are only 3 of us using it, so there isn’t an excessive amount of loads being done. This is what it looks like after just over 5 months of use.
