Great for the purpose I bought it for
I bought this as an overview to help me explain eastern religions to my kids (via a comparative essay). For that, this very brief, main-points (and cursory) introduction is fine as a more personally-applied-practice overview, including pictures, than a Wikipedia article. It is brochure-like, somewhat, and an introduction to the authors website. Probably not suited for deeply serious inquiry, however, at a mere 55 pages (14,000 words) but good nonetheless, for the inexpensive price.

Decent introduction to Hinduism
A basic intro, not much depth. Read it in one evening, wish there was more to it. Still moderately informative though.

Informative information
This was a very informative reading for someone who is curious about India religion. It was very simple read as well. I finished less than 2 days because it really kept my interest. I like the fact that other books were suggested for further education and the author shared her email for any questions.

Great book full in interesting facts about Hunduism
This is a terrific book for anyone who has ever been interested in learning more about Hinduism. Sharma provides background information about the Hindu Gods and Goddesses, such as Ganesha and Shiva, and the history of Hinduism itself and what Hindus believe. There is also information about the benefits of Yoga, and how to increase your good Karma (which I strongly believe in). Sharma also provides advice for those who are considering conversion, and what to do when youโre inside a Hindu temple. Whether youโre interested in learning about the religion, or thinking about converting, there is a lot of truly helpful information in the book, and itโs definitely worth reading.

Best for neophytes only
A short introduction to Hinduism. It covers the basics and would work for a first ('beginner') introduction. Most of the information was already known to me..., and I gave it 3 stars for 'basic information.' But at the end there is a reading list that if followed can take us a bit further. At the price I believe it is worth it - IF you are a novice.

This book has really opened my mind!!
A great introduction into hinduism!! I've been living in Bali for the last 4 years and so I've been exposed to the balinese form of hindu. I use to find all the different gods confusing but at the same time fascinating. Now I know a little more about why they do what they do and the beliefs are very spiritual. This book has really opened my mind!!
