Good book, but with a major error.
This is a nice book with the card images well-reproduced and a good history of how they came to be. There is one problem, though. I was eight-years old in 1968 when the original film opened in theaters where I lived on Long Island, NY in April of that year. I first saw PLANET OF THE APES at the beginning of that month, and then again in late June of 1968. Between that time I discovered there were Topps bubble-gum cards from the film and I collected them all, and when I went to see the movie for the second time in June, just a week after my ninth birthday, I had an entire set of 44 "Planet of the Apes" bubble-gum cards in the pocket of my cargo shorts. So, what's the problem? This book says the original card series came out in 1969. Not true. It came out in the Spring of 1968. I was there. The book does say that the original series of cards was not a big seller, and I can confirm that because I remember that eventually they sold the cards in clear-wrapped sets of ten. So, Topps must have had a lot of them that didn't sell in packages of five with the stick of gum, and then tried to sell as many as they could.I loved the movie so much that I eventually bought more than three hundred of them, and I still have every one of them to this day, including an original wrapper and the counter box they were sold out of.

All the cards from the Planet of the Apes phenomenon
Lots of good photos from the Planet of the Apes franchise. Could have had more on the original movies and less of the Tim Burton debacle but I guess that's that. Normally I'm not much on trading cards (though with some exceptions such as The Lion King and Star Wars), but this is probably good as a small resource to one of the better pre-Star Wars sci-fi sagas. The first movie remains one of my favorite sci-fi standalone films. The others were OK, and I never saw the live TV show. Still, it's good, like I said.

Small book, Length and Width but very thick, shows each card front and back on individual pages.
Book is not like I expected but still pleased with it. The book does have nice photos of each card front and back, front being shown on one side and the reverse on the back side of the same page. The book adds to with my original card collections. Book has clear images of cards, overall pleased with purchase. Image of cards appear to be 1 to 1 size of original cards.

Card Collection in a Book
Why buy the cards when you can see them all in one handy book, great collection of vintage and more modern cards, no need to worry about gum stains or the cards getting damaged. Great way to relive your childhood Non-Sports collections. I wish some of the other companies would put out their vintage cards in this format.

Well made with beautiful details and prints of each card's front and back
A well made book, my biggest problem is most of the cards showcased are from the Tim Burton film, which I suppose can't be helped, but was still hoping for more from the original films. Still: Well made with beautiful details and prints of each card's front and back. This and the Mars Attacks books are great!

Background story on the cards origin
Nice book with very clear photographs of the cards. Almost scale representation too. Interesting insight into the cards origin, from someone who was involved in the actual creation process. Never knew about the stipulations, and limitations between the card companies and the movie producers. It was a very interesting read.

General Urko would not approve.
Nice addition to my Planet of the Apes collection. Great little hardcover filled with pictures of vintage cards of the Ape franchise. Really brings back the memories. Buy it! Taylor would have if he wasn't busy blowing the planet up.

too much monkey business!
Nostalgia is a wonderful thing....Me? I love anything connected with Planet Of The Apes...original that is, not the Wayne Rooney remakesYes, i am happy that this has been released, but quality? Blurry photocopies of the original cards???Not Good.Still, if like me you "go ape" for nostalgia...what are you waiting for?!

Must have for APES fans
I adore this small, hardback book featuring the history of all the APES card sets from TOPPS, pics of each card front/back and packaging, promo material. Lots of interesting stuff to read about them also and a few cards enclosed in a pack inside the back cover. Pure nostalgia.

Fun book for Ape fans.
If you're a fan of Planet of the apes or a fan of the old bubblegum cards you'll love this book. A true labor of love with lots of fun back stories and behind the scenes stuff. Wish Topps would do a Superman trading card book too.

Buen libro
Es una buena compilación, aunque la resolución de las fotos de las tarjetas no es la mejor, pero es una buena documentación
