These are the best hazelnuts, or filberts as I call them. Lived for 30 years 20 miles from Holmquist, and they have always been top quality. Thrilled to find them on Amazon.

I bake muffins for my guests, the most requested is the Double Stuffed Chocolate Muffin. This muffin features Hazelnuts and Nutella. Having dry roasted hazelnuts that are fresh and flavorful is a must. I am very happy with the Holmquist nuts.

I bought these hazelnuts specifically to try to make hazelnut extract, because the picture showed skin-free nuts (the last picture I added), and the price was decent.I knew as soon as I opened the mailer that they wouldn't be good, just by what I saw visually. Almost all of the nuts still have the skins on them, which is nothing like the picture. I opened the package of nuts and they didn't smell right...almost burnt maybe? I can't describe it. I chewed a few and had to spit them out. They don't taste good. Like they're over-roasted AND have a rancid "old" taste. I thought maybe I just grabbed a few bad ones, so I tried some more. Nope. No good.I am so very disappointed. I read so many reviews saying how good they were. Unfortunately, that is not the experience I had.
