Great Plants
Don't hesitate to order from this grower. Plants arrived in excellent condition and are producing a remarkable strawberry bed even though our weather conditions have been less than ideal.

Not like any other bare root plant that I ever bought.
Not a single one of these sprouted! I had my first organic garden before 1970. I am not a novice, but these came looking horrible. I have gotten many plants bare root in the past and all thrived, but these were different. There was mold on the plants and they had a bad smell. We put them in a new raised bed with every additive needed, decent beginning soil, organic compost, blood meal, bone meal, mushroom compost, bat guano, all to no avail. I used to have 250 strawberry plants in my California home and made all of our jam organic and fresh. There was nothing "fresh" about these plants. I could not return them because I live in Mexico. I had them shipped to my US mailing address and it was not worth going for an 11 hour one way drive to return them.

Magic Beans
I must say, less than 7 days since they have arrived and these are growing beautifully. These really feel like magic beans (or legumes) With the bare roots you receive, they provide you a website address to visit and business card with a number to call. I went to the website, and the instructions seemed to repeat... so I got my YouTube certification, then reread their instructions, and it made more sense. The next morning I prepared the garden bed by turning over the soil and amending with sand. Now the instructions say to plant indoors for a few days, but there were 35 bare roots (baker’s dozen?) for the 30 advertised. I also put down water permeable weed cloth... poked holes in the cloth to mark where I was going to plant the roots and planted all 35 about 5-6” apart and watered. Set irrigation to water every other day, and all 35 sprung to life overnight. Literally the next AM all the crowns were green and standing straight up, and you could see leaves budding. Today is day 6 and each strawberry plant is between 3-4” high, and have several leaves (4-8 per plant). Will update once I get fruit to provide details on first harvest and taste...

Healthy but NOT as many as stated
After planting yesterday, ther are definitely NOT 30 plants as the seller describes in the listing title... maybe 18-20 if lucky...... but they are healthy and happy plants. My kids are excited to have them.

No sign of life.
I received and planted these the same day. I got them on the 20th of June. Today is 3 weeks. There is no sign of life. I’ve included pictures to show how I planted them and how they look the same today. I soaked them in a bucket of water for several hours before transplanting them. This review is for what I received only. I really know nothing of the company that sold them to me so again this is for the plant starts only. I just recent replacements for the dead strawberry plants. It is clear to me that the first ones I received were truly, “dead on arrival”. I boosted this from one star to two. Dealing with the company telling me that I had killed the first ones by transplanting them in potting soil. Since I had never done bare root transplanting I couldn’t be sure. Now I know the first ones were just dead. The company told me they would not refund my money they would, however, send me new ones I just had to pay for shipping. So I agreed to pay for shipping and then silence. So I contacted them again and reiterated I would pay shipping so he sent me information and then more happened blah blah blah and I finally got the strawberry plants. Way different. They are all doing well. The company would do well to send a picture of what your package should look like when it arrives. What a struggle!

Replacement plants were better.
The first delivery was not good. A couple of the plants were slimy and mushy - unusable. Many were near dead and died. I contacted the grower, and he offered to replace the plants for free, but required that I pay for the shipping. I didn't have a choice so I did. Making these MUCH more expensive. The photos are the replacement plants. There were some slimy leaves, and two look iffy, but it looks like the rest will survive and thrive. Fingers crossed.
