Dragon NaturallySpeaking Home 12 with KeyCard (Old Version)

I used this products very little but it did work well. When I found out that windows 8 or later has a speech recognition program preinstalled I started using that instead and I love it! They both have their pros and cons. With the dragon it seemed to work well with programs but not so well with apps. With the preinstalled speech recognition program it works well with programs and apps but there's less that you can do. Keep in mind that I didn't use the dragon very much so these minor issues could probably be addressed fairly simply. My windows speech recognition works great for me! However, you may be more satisfied with the dragon speech recognition. If you have a computer that has windows 8 or later operating system then I would recommend trying that first. If you're not satisfied then give this dragon speech recognition a try.

This is the worst version you can buy. The key card version does not download from Nuance. To make matters worse, Nuance will not recognize purchases of this product from the Amazon website, thus no technical support can be had. I learned this firsthand after waiting 24 hours for it to download, then trying to contact Nuance for support. There is no actual person to speak with so you must rely on instant messaging. After an hour of that they informed me that they did not recognize my purchase from Amazon. They offered me a discount on a new version of Dragon, which I promptly informed them where they could stick their offer since they offer no technical support of their product.

1. Not to beat a dead Dragon... But this product is very difficult to set up, not intuitive on modern-day standards. I was really excited about getting it in the mail but after taking the entire day to set it up and program it, you didn't do the job. I know that someone at some time put a great deal of effort into it, but unfortunately in my humble opinion today it no longer holds water. With Siri and other related apps, this is no longer a necessary product, imho. However I have heard of Professional Edition's like the medical transcription edition which are excellent.

I must echo Mr. Gregerson. Nuance refused my keycard number. I expected that might happen--I only paid $18 after all.Worse than that, when I tried to install a pricier version with better credentials it would not install, claiming that the earlier failed installation was a later version. There was no technical support at Nuance to help me sort this out. I wound up installing my pricier version on an old laptop.

This is an awesome product! I use it to write papers for school. You can't get a better deal for the price!
