The product is softer than car wax with a waxy smell but it goes on easily and buffs out beautifully. My cabinets were old and dry and this had given them a nice sheen.

I have watched most of Gilboy's youtube shows and I have really enjoyed them, many of which I've watched multiple times. So, I broke the bank and ordered a one litre can of pure gold. I have worked with wood for many years and have restored or refinished family pieces. I am not a professional or commercial wood worker or restorer. While I've been disappointed with my first results, I will continue to try the product to determine if the results were user related (I tried restoring a 100 year old maple coffee table but could not get close to the results that Gilboy's gets on their shows). Too much wax build up or too much applied and not absorbed, I guess, so the difference between their product and a pure Danish Oil base with a bees wax finish was significant. I'll continue to follow the show and will keep trying to emulate their results. Maybe I'll get there!!!

I used the wax minutes after it arrived on a 400 year old oak tray and used far too much wax. I found that less wax goes a long way to a brilliant finish. I also found out that using the polishing cloth on other items slowly built a beautiful thin patina. If you have dirt or grime on the wood, like centuries of hands touching the arms of a chair, wash the first with hot water and a mild wood cleaner.

This is the best finish I have had from any wax product . The quality is plain to see, simple to apply with superb results . I will be buying again
