I was out last week on a cold day, having taken my guns out of a warm and humid car. Exposure to the cold air coated the outside of both my guns with condensation. Later I shot in rainy conditions and I am fairly confident, mainly in my 97k springer that there would be a degree of moisture in the barrel. A wipe down with an oil rag and firing a couple of these useful pellets ensured that after a tiring day I could put my guns into a dry cabinet ahead of cleaning them properly when I was not fatigued. Cleaning barrels causes as much controversy as pellet choice and why two identical guns fire pellets from the same tin differently. Personally I clean my barrels at least once a year, dependant on usage. I shoot with other people who have never cleaned theirs at all. What these pellets permit me to do is to shoot a couple through, either with a tiny amount of oil or not to clean the barrel and occasionally to remove moisture. Certainly on a days shooting, if the gun is not shooting as you expect it to, popping a couple of these pellets through can help. It is fine to shoot these felt pads on their own through a PCP or CO2 gun but for a springer, it is important to place this cleaning pellet into the breach and then place a pellet after it DO NOT FIRE THIS PELLET ON A SORING POWERED RIFLE WITHOUT A PELLET as it could damage the gun. Overall a great product, it does remove lead residue and moisture out of the barrel and are a useful aid to help but not remove the need to clean the barrel with a pull through and cloth patches. Nice to have in your gun tool box. I drop 3 of 4 of these through my guns every few thousand pettets. surprized what gunk they pull out. I also have a pull though. Recommended buy.

can not load
I have a under lever pistol with a side loading breech. They measure 6mm wide not 4.5mm. So are impossible to load in the without compressing them then they are to long and I am unable to close the breech. You would still have to compress them if your gun was break barrel loading, but should work..
