It was his request for his birthday. After a lot of research on making this cake, I found that this vanilla is essential, and now I understand why. It does not flavor as our traditional vanilla extract does at all!. This cake requires a bit of effort as it is iced with an Italian meringue. It was well worth the effort because the birthday recipient was overwhelmed with the authenticity.
