I'm looking for a product for my dry, flaky facial skin. I see "cetyl alcohol" in the ingredients. Doesn't "alcohol" dry out theskin?

I googled this about cetyl alcohol.  "Cetyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol used as an emulsion stabilizer and opacifier, adding body and viscosity to creams and lotions, and improving texture and feel with its characteristic velvety texture. It imparts emollient properties to formulations due to its absorption and retention in the epidermis where it lubricates and softens the skin. Useful in creams, lotions, and scrubs; it can also be used to increase the melt point and improve the texture of whipped butters and lotion bars."  All that said, I wouldn't choose this cream for dry, flaky skin...it seemed a little thin to me (which I like as I'm using other products as well).  I encourage you to check out cetyl alchohol; it sounds like it actually enhances lotion's ability to moisturize by forming a barrier that water can't penetrate thereby preventing dry skin.  Just my two cents.  I hope it helps and that you find a great lotion for your skin.

Don't vitamin c and niacinamide (vit b3) cancel each other when used together? will someone please clarify?

Hi Gata,Thanks for the question.There are different forms of Vitamin C. When you are talking about L'Ascorbic Acid this can be true because L'Ascorbic Acid requires a very low pH to be stable, and niacinamide a bit higher (5+). Our Vitamin C is derived from Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which is a highly stable form of Vitamin C and requires a higher pH, as niacinamide.  This is why we are able to successfully make the combination. Hope this helps!
