It's worked out really well all that time. Even the filters lasted a great deal longer than 3 months, and we use/drink gallons of water daily. On average, I only had to change our filter every 8 - 9 months. I think that the key to this is to remember to put the lever down when you're not using the water for cooking, or for drinking. But, every good thing must come to an end. Three days ago, my little lever broke off, so now I must buy another system. That part of the system is plastic, so it's just worn out from well over two years worth of up and down movements. That's the only thing that I'd like to see changed in this system. I just wish that the lever was metal too; like the screw on base. Other than that, I'm really pleased with this system. Also, I really like how you get a filter with the start up system, so that you can set it up right away once it arrives. (A little later, I'll order the set of three filters so that I can have some on hand). So, even though my lever has broken off; I still highly recommend this system. I feel that it's a good value for the money, and that it works quite well. The taste in our water has improved 100% with this system. We won't drink our water without the filtered system.
