You're supposed to exercise whilst wearing it. There's no such thing as a product which you wear and it slims you down. If only! 😄 This looks like a great product, I will be buying myself.

If you are a UK size 14/16, I would suggest size L. I'm a standard UK 16 and went for an L. Takes a bit of squirming to get in to it, but holds everything in and I wanted a snug fit.
