I love the serene portraits and and the quality of the cover!

Wonderful book, easy to read.

This book is the result of some very impressive research on every aspect of Jenny Lind's life. It's full of facts and well written. The author successfully creates a rather intimate portrait of this 19th century superstar, against a backdrop of the European Romantic Era, Victorian England and The New World across the Atlantic. The story of Jenny Lind's life is truly incredible, did we ever see a bigger musical star?

Sarah Dunsmore has spent ten years researching her famous ancestor, and that shows in her very readable book. The book is well organized and shows Jenny as she really was, flaws and all. The welcome book introduces the great singer and philanthropist to generations who may never heard of this remarkable woman. All of the photos and exhibits are extra bonuses. Having met Sarah, I heard her passion in speaking of Jenny and was amazed that she had even learned Swedish to be able to translate original letters and manuscripts. Thank you, Sarah, for this wonderful book!

But very interesting. I found out more about my mum and her mother than anybody has ever known and I’m a nosy bugger and I promised Mum I would try and look into it. Unfortunately since then I’ve had a stroke so my mind doesn’t work as quick as it used to still their memory still there. I had to buy this book because Jenny Lind was my great great grandmother. At last I was able to walk through the pages and get a full picture of her life. Sarah has done excellent research, and I can’t thank her enough for bringing our mutual ancestor to life in such a glorious way. The illustrations and presentation of this book are superb.

Really outstanding biography of a woman whose name I recognize, but little else about her. Unlike many biographies, the book had really remarkable illustrative material that brought her much more alive.

A great story, very well told in this beautifully illustrated book. Highly recommended!
