This item balaclava suitable for a glasses wearer?

Yes you will be able to wear glasses, but we found they tended to steam up. Although we were in the artic in -23 degrees, so it was extreme weather. Nice thick fleece and well made.

Would this be too big for a 10 & 12 year old?

The hood is quite big for an adult head so probably a big for a 10-12 year old without another woolly hat inside. The neck and mask part would be fine though as they are certainly snug on me without being uncomfortable and feel like a scarf.

do you wear on top of your clothes or under them?

You wear onto of your clothes cause it is very warm altogether to be worn inside

Can it be worn without the mouth covering

Yes, you can pull it down, or further up and it has a adjustable cord to loosen the fit. It's VERY warm.
