Low Point of Career
This was the worst thing Gato Barbieri ever recorded. It's nothing but crass commercialism. It's almost a disco album with Gato's sax on top. This is NOT what Gato was about. It's almost laughable, and it's little wonder that Gato disappeared for a while after making this album. Avoid getting this. Hopefully, this album will never appear on a CD. If you want to hear Gato at his finest, go with the "Chapters" series or the first two albums he did on A&M.

Sell out?
I just LOVE when an artist is accused of selling out commercially. Barbieri is a power house! He could play "Three Blind Mice" and make it sound incredible. Excuse him if he wanted to sell to more than just the elitist "Real Jazz" community. This was my introduction to Gato. When I heard him play I was shocked! Since then I've gone back and got more of his albums, studio, live and more jazzy stuff, even rare vynil. So I guess he accomplished what he set out to do with this album, expand his audience. I love Billy Joe Walker Jr., an awesome guitarist from Nashville, played on countless country and rock albums, did he sell out when he recorded his semi-smooth jazz albums? You could say Bob Dylan, Genesis, Journey, REM, Metallica... all sold out. Who are we to demand from an artist? It's not like we give talented musicians handsfull of money while saying "Thanks for not selling out". I know there are alot of musicians who stay true, and bless them! But don't get offended when they make some money. So, please, record company people, Re-master and release THIS ALBUM!
