Great Hair Dye!
I recently tried Clairol Natural Instincts Semi-Permanent Hair Dye in the shade 4RV Dark Burgundy, and I couldn't be happier with the results! This product is a game-changer for anyone looking to add a rich, vibrant color to their hair without the commitment of permanent dye. The application process was straightforward and user-friendly. The included instructions were clear, and the creamy formula glided on smoothly, ensuring even coverage. I appreciated that it has a pleasant scent, which is a big plus compared to other dyes I've used in the past. The 4RV Dark Burgundy color is stunning! It delivered a deep, rich hue that beautifully enhanced my natural color. The shade is perfect for fall, providing that gorgeous, warm undertone that stands out in a subtle yet striking way. I've received numerous compliments since dyeing my hair! Ialso appreciate that Clairol Natural Instincts contains no ammonia and is infused with natural ingredients like aloe and coconut oil. It left my hair feeling soft and healthy rather than dry or damaged, which can often be a concern with hair dyes. Overall, Clairol Natural Instincts 4RV Dark Burgundy is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to experiment with color while keeping hair health in mind. It's affordable, easy to use, and delivers beautiful results. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to refresh their look without the commitment of a permanent dye. This product has definitely earned a permanent spot in my beauty routine! With its vibrant color payoff and nourishing formula, this dye is a must-try for anyone looking to elevate their hair game!

Color and No Damage
I really love that the color came out exactly as pictured and doesn’t feel like it damaged my hair at all! It is definitely demi permanent so a great way to check out new options. I recommend heavily!

Great bright red color for blondes
This is great hair color but this color is more reddish than appears if your hair is a light color. For more brownish color go with golden light brown. It has perfect mount iof auburn red mix that looks more natural. .but if bright red is your color it must be blonde ir grey to take that color . I mix this color thought with light golden brown to get auburn high lights. Mix half and half of each tube's and tighten lids fir next time.

Great Gray Coverage
Great product but one less star due to shade of red (light auburn 6R) not being quite what was expected. I understand everyone’s starting color affects the outcome but I don’t believe my hair was very dark to begin with. However, it covered my grays wonderfully! Obviously the color pulled much light on my roots than the rest of my hair but I don’t mind, as it’s not a crazy difference. I’ll provide a before and after. I love that the applicator bottle has a tip that you can simple pop off instead of having to cut it. The included conditioner is a generous tube that can be used for a few washes after so that’s nice. Overall I would purchase and use again, especially for the price point and since I also need two boxes to cover the amount of hair I have.

I only use this brand
I only use Clairol Natural Instincts Demi-Permanent Hair Dye, 5R Medium Auburn Hair Color for 20 years. It leaves my hair a beautiful shade of auburn that I haven’t found with other brands. It’s very easy to apply and rinse out after 25 minutes. After I use the conditioner that comes with the kit, my hair doesn’t have any frizz, not damaged and it’s shiny and soft.

Beautiful, True-to-Box Color
I was really happy with this hair color—it matched the shade on the box very closely and gave me a result I loved. The formula was easy to mix and apply, and even with my hair being below my shoulders, there was just the right amount of product. It also lasted a good amount of time before fading. The only drawback for me is personal—I have sensitive skin, and coloring my hair tends to irritate my scalp. Because of that, I may need to look for something gentler in the future. Otherwise, this is a fantastic option if you want a reliable, true-to-color demi-permanent dye.

Terrible product - color not as advertised on virgin hair and extremely drying/damaging
Total disappointment. I had my doubts anything marketed as semi/demi could turn my very dark, almost black hair the beautiful shade of red that was advertised on the box (where it specifically shows for black hair), and I was right. It was super disappointing, as I thought this would be less damaging than permanent box dye, and it wasn't, plus i got minimal color.. In very very very bright light or sunlight there's a slight purple/red tint, and my roots looks a lighter shade of BROWN, but that's it. I ordered 4RR, neutral darkest red. The directions are a bit unclear if you have "virgin" hair. I rarely treat my hair because I'm happy in my 30s I have minimal gray (knock on wood), and I bleached my hair for many years and wanted to undo a lot of the damage. So I occasionally get a gloss or glaze at the salon that's my natural shade to bring out tone and add shine, but that tends to cost $100+. So I decided to try this, over 7 months out from my last salon treatment. As I said earlier the directions were a bit unclear but I've box dyed in the past, so I did my roots first, fully saturated the rest of my dry, unwashed hair, and let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing and conditioning. Not only was my hair nothing like the color shown, it dried my hair out just like a permanent box dye would. The picture above is 4 days after coloring. I used the provided conditioner that night, and the following day used biotin treatment, because my hair felt like straw. Then I straightened it, thinking maybe the color might show, but all it did was show how fried my hair looked, before it started to curl and frizz thanks to high humidity. My natural hair is wavy to curly, prone to dryness and frizz. Because of my hair texture, I don't wash it everyday. So now, I'll have to wait until this washes out to go back to the salon, where they can maybe bring my hair back to it was before I tried this. But as an added bonus I have 2 boxes of dye I'll never use and I get to spend all summer 2021 looking like a scarecrow with straw hair, after spending all last summer locked in my home for the pandemic. Shame on you clairol.

NOT a NATURAL redhead color
I love natural instincts cuz if I'm too poor or lazy to redo it I don't get roots! And it's gentle and the conditioner in it is awesome (hey Clairol, you should sell that separately!) That being said, and I realize all hair is different and no I didn't do a strand test, but I expected a more natural looking redhead color. I got BURGUNDY. At least for the first week or two. NOT what I was going for. So...beware...do the strand test.
