I love this project. It makes my toe nails last!! (Only do reg polish on toes) I legit can walk/ run barefoot and my toe nail polish will stay!! I actually love the thickness of the top coat. It lets me know that it’s enough coverage. And lowkey feels like glass on top of your nails. In a protective way. I feel like I got my money worth. (Bought 3 so i wouldn’t run out) it take just a little time to dry maybe an hour. You’ll know but how smooth it is after it dries. Functionality is 10/10. Money well spent! I recommend this product.

This is the best top coat I’ve found. I use nail wraps and wanted to get something to put over the top to make them last even longer. Bought this on a whim and it works super well. Dries quickly and protects my nails and nail wraps. It doesn’t last forever - after about 7 months it turned in to absolute goop. But most of the bottle was gone and I feel like most nail polish gets icky after a while. Only complaint would be the annoying price changes on Amazon. It was super cheap when I bought it (under $3) and I just went to buy a new one and it was way more expensive. So I bought a different Sally Hansen top coat to try. Well I just looked again after a couple days and it’s back down to like $3. Annoying that I could’ve just waited and bought this one that I know I like.

I bought this originally when I could not find the Sally Hansen pink tint hardener, because it was cheap. I prefer to wear clear polish 99% of the time but want some protection so I can grow my natural nails. However, when this is applied to the bare nail it peels off within a day if your hands get wet. I have tried double coats, wrapping the tip, drying the nail bed beforehand etc, but it always ends up coming off almost immediately. In contrast, when used as a true top coat over nail polish, it works great! It will help my polish last a week without chipping at all! So I would suggest using this only as a topcoat and never by itself. Will not repurchase because the peeling issue is unbearable and I don't want to redo my nails every day. In photo I am wearing one coat of Sally Hansen Cold as Ice and one coat of this topcoat (Hard As Nails Strengthening Top Coat).

I picked up the Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails Strengthening Top Coat after reading that it helps protect fragile nails—and after a few weeks of use, I can confidently say it’s a solid pick for beginners. What drew me to this top coat is that it does double duty—it not only adds a glossy finish to my manicure but also claims to strengthen and protect weak, brittle nails. Since I’ve had a history of peeling and breakage, I was excited to see if this would help. The application is smooth and easy, thanks to the wide brush that covers the nail in just a couple of strokes. The formula is clear, non-goopy, and self-leveling, which makes it very beginner-friendly. Even with my shaky hand, I managed a streak-free finish. It definitely adds a high-shine glossy top layer that makes my polish look fresh and professionally done. Over the course of two weeks, I noticed my nails felt harder and snapped less easily, especially at the edges where I usually get splits. I’ve even worn it on bare nails, and it gives them a polished, natural look while still providing that protective coat. It’s a great everyday option even when you’re not wearing color. Now for the one downside: the dry time is longer than I’d like. While it feels touch-dry in a few minutes, it can still dent or smudge easily if you’re not patient. I’ve learned to wait at least 15–20 minutes before doing anything with my hands, especially after applying over multiple polish layers. A quick-dry spray or drops might help if you’re in a rush. Overall, this is a fantastic top coat for anyone just starting their nail care routine at home. It’s affordable, strengthening, and shiny, and it’s helped me feel more confident doing my own nails. Just give it time to dry properly, and you’ll be impressed by how long your manicure lasts. Highly recommend for nail newbies looking for a little extra protection and polish!

I was wanting to replace and old bottle of the original sally hansen, hard as nails. This stuff is shocking. Very bubbly and is already flaking off my nails 4 hours later. Old stuff stayed on for 10days without an issue.
